Orvana Minerals Releases Q2 FY2025 Production and Exploration Highlights from Orovalle, Spain

Orvana Minerals Corp. Q2 FY2025 Production and Exploration Report

On April 17, 2025, Orvana Minerals Corp. (TSX: ORV) announced its production and exploration updates for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2025, which concluded on March 31, 2025. The company, primarily focused on mining gold, copper, and silver, emphasized its operations in the Orovalle region of Spain. This latest report sheds light on both production figures and ongoing exploration activities.

Production Highlights

According to the report, Orvana faced challenges in gold production for Q2 FY2025, attributing this setback to unexpected maintenance issues. Despite this, the company managed to produce 6,792 ounces of gold during this quarter. The aim remains to reach the lower end of its 2025 production guidance, which stands between 37,000 to 41,000 ounces.

The quarterly data showcased that the mill processed approximately 111,272 tons of ore, which is a 6% decrease compared to the previous quarter. The reduction was mainly due to a 28-day shutdown of the processing plant, which included 17 days dedicated to necessary maintenance activities and 11 days corresponding to a scheduled workforce calendar. By the end of March 2025, the site had about 18,000 tons of ore stockpiled, earmarked for processing in the upcoming quarter.

On a more positive note, copper production exceeded expectations during the quarter, with Orvana reporting the extraction of 0.9 million pounds of copper. This performance positions the company on track to exceed its initial production guidance of 2,400 to 2,700 K lbs for the year.

Exploration Activities

In the area of exploration, the company continued its drilling efforts, specifically targeting the El Valle Boinás Area 208, which is associated with oxide ore bodies. This initiative aims to define new inferred resources and transition them into indicated resources. In Q2 FY2025, a total of 3,121 meters were drilled across both infill and brownfield projects.

The investigation also included the Ortosa-Godán project, located just three kilometers from the Carlés mine. In this context, the exploration team has identified promising signs of mineralization at the contact point between intrusive and sedimentary rocks, suggesting further developments in the region.

The third quarter's drilling program will shift focus towards better defining the skarn mineralization in Boinás East and South.

Quality Control Measures

To ensure the reliability of the results, all sampling procedures were conducted following industry standards. Core samples were sent for analysis to ALS Laboratory, while samples from infill and brownfield locations were tested in Orovalle’s own laboratory. The rigorous quality assurance and control program bolsters the confidence in the reported exploration results.

Looking Ahead

Orvana maintains a forward-looking approach, indicating its commitment to achieving production guidance while espousing growth through exploration in Orovalle and other sites. The forthcoming months will prove critical, as the company seeks to enhance its operational effectiveness and realize its strategic objectives in the mining sector. Financial highlights and additional updates, including developments in Bolivia and Argentina, are expected to be disclosed with the release of its financial results in mid-May 2025.
