LIFULL Investment Joins Forces for HUBEX Asakusa Hotel

In an exciting development for local tourism, LIFULL, a leading social enterprise based in Tokyo, is partnering with LIFULL Investment to launch the HUBEX Asakusa project. This initiative aims to meet the growing demand for accommodation among international visitors while supporting the local economy and promoting tourism in Japan.

Background of the Project

Recently, Japan has seen a significant increase in the number of inbound tourists, making the tourism sector a critical component of the nation’s economy. However, a major challenge persists: the majority of accommodation demand is concentrated in certain urban areas, leaving many regional economies under-affected by tourism. With the establishment of the HUBEX Asakusa apartment hotel, LIFULL aims to tackle this issue by driving visitors from Tokyo to other regions, thereby enhancing local economies and tourism.

LIFULL has created the Community Creation No. 2 Fund, with a mission to invest in projects that stimulate regional revitalization through the effective utilization of real estate. This project, featuring the HUBEX Asakusa hotel, serves as a hub to share the appeal of local attractions and generate plans for sending inbound tourists to various regions across Japan.

Project Overview

The HUBEX Asakusa hotel will be developed in collaboration with Ono Construction Company and R Bank, reinforcing the partnership established through previous development initiatives, such as the HUBEX Akihabara hotel project launched in July 2025. This latest project exemplifies a commitment to continuous regional development through real estate investment.

Investment Structure

The project will utilize a special purpose company (SPC) under the structure designed for Qualified Investor Limited Partnerships per the real estate joint venture law. This innovative approach allows for anonymous association investments, facilitating smoother financial operations.

Additionally, LIFULL Investment will provide mezzanine loans, ensuring robust financial support for the seamless progression of the project.

Strategically located only a two-minute walk from Asakusa Station and five minutes from the iconic Kaminarimon Gate, the HUBEX Asakusa apartment hotel caters to the increasing demand for long-term stays and group tourism.
