Revolutionizing Construction Industry Training with STADIV Certification App Launch

Revolutionizing Construction Industry Training with STADIV

In a major step towards addressing the training gaps in the construction sector, Will Group Inc., headquartered in Nakano, Tokyo, is launching the STADIV app, scheduled to be available for corporate users starting April 2026. Specifically designed to assist in preparing for the first-level construction management technician certification exams, STADIV will initially focus on electrical engineering and plumbing certification exams.

STADIV is a next-generation app that employs a unique ‘decomposed learning’ method tailored for certification exams. The app reconstructs past exam questions and their components down to the smallest units, presenting them in a question-and-answer format. This design guides users through a learning journey from understanding to solidifying knowledge and applying their skills in practice, enabling an efficient learning experience even within a limited timeframe. Unlike traditional methods that rely heavily on rote memorization of past questions, STADIV helps learners build their understanding step-by-step, reducing the risk of burnout and enhancing the chances of success.

Key Features of STADIV

1. Original Q&A Format: The app presents questions by breaking down past exam choices into manageable parts—this approach builds foundational knowledge effectively. Users find it easier to grasp concepts in shorter study sessions, significantly improving learning efficiency.

2. Reduced Study Time: Traditional preparation for passing rates can average out to around 122 hours, but STADIV cuts this down to approximately 40 hours through its question-and-answer system combined with past question practice, yielding around 80 hours of time savings.

3. AI and Expert Insights: STADIV merges AI analysis with the expertise of qualified instructors to identify high-probability topics on exams. This enables targeted learning and provides users with visual data on their study history and accuracy rates, helping them pinpoint areas needing improvement for more effective learning.

4. Enterprise Learning Management: The app includes features for corporate administrators to track employee progress and success rates. This data-driven approach enhances training strategies and improves the overall qualification acquisition rate for businesses.

Background for Development

As the construction industry faces a critical shortage of skilled workers due to demographic changes and younger generations moving away from the field, the challenge for companies is evolving from merely hiring new talent to developing existing personnel. In light of increasingly competitive recruitment settings, boosting skills and supporting certification efforts will become crucial factors influencing a company's competitiveness.

Dependence on outside hires alone is no longer a viable model. Companies must prioritize enhancing the capabilities of their existing workforce through training and support programs aimed at improving organizational capacity. Acquiring certified professionals is directly correlated with maintaining operational strength and expanding business opportunities, making strategic development at the company level essential.

Meanwhile, roles like construction management are heavily constrained by both time and location; thus, securing adequate study time remains a challenge. Research indicates that many individuals fail certification exams not due to a lack of study time but rather because they struggle with understanding past exam questions.

Historically, success was viewed as reliant on the individual's motivation and effort. However, the current dynamics of the workforce have shifted significantly. Formerly, candidates typically had engineering backgrounds and relied on extensive personal study and past question practice to achieve success. Nowadays, it's common to see a higher representation of non-engineering graduates and inexperienced entrants, resulting in varied foundational knowledge levels at the time of employment. The rise of work-life balance reforms has also made it impractical for many to dedicate long hours to study, thereby shifting the responsibility for effective learning design to employers.

In response to these industry challenges, Will Group is committed to evolving the narrative around certification from an individual endeavor to a corporate-sponsored developmental framework, evolving with the introduction of STADIV.

Future Prospects

Initially, the STADIV app will be rolled out to support electrical engineering and plumbing certifications, with plans for expanding to other fields in the future. Will Group aims to propel the development of DX in training for the construction industry, thus positioning certification acquisition as an integral aspect of organizational strategy.
