Launch of the Podcast: "Renewable Energy Q&A - Our Future Map"
On June 5, 2025, the Renewable Energy Foundation kicked off its podcast series, titled "Renewable Energy Q&A: Our Future Map." With a mission to develop a sustainable and prosperous society based on renewable energy, this show invites listeners to engage in discussions and collaborate in envisioning a brighter future. The series will be available on major platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.
Climate change is increasingly affecting people's lives, evident through the intensifying heatwaves, droughts, heavy rains, and natural disasters like forest fires. Additionally, the resultant shortages of agricultural and fishery products lead to price hikes, compelling many to feel the gravity of climate issues. As a response, achieving a decarbonized society on a global scale is necessary. Not only political and administrative bodies but also businesses and individuals must undertake initiatives in their respective domains.
Furthermore, there is an urgent need to enhance energy efficiency and transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. However, many people harbor concerns regarding how these renewable technologies will transform their lives.
In this context, every researcher from the Renewable Energy Foundation actively engages in dialogues with listeners to collaboratively paint a picture of a "sustainable and prosperous society." The podcast aims to instill hope for the future through progressive insights regarding renewable energy’s societal impact, clarifying the latest information, and addressing queries and concerns raised by the audience.
Each episode is structured to serve as a platform for open dialogue about renewable energy and its implications, encouraging listeners to share their thoughts and engage with the content.

Schedule
The podcast will air biweekly on the first and third Thursday of each month, with listeners encouraged to participate actively. The first episode titled "Restoring Agriculture through Solar Sharing: Protecting Our Tables" was released on June 5, focusing on how solar sharing can safeguard agriculture and ensure a stable food supply. In this episode, researcher Yuhei Tsukamoto shares insights from his visits to producers across the country engaged in solar sharing initiatives.
The second episode, expected to air on June 19, will explore two scenarios for 2040: one proposed by the government, aiming for a 50% share of renewable energy, and the second from the foundation, envisioning a 90% share. Senior Manager Kaori Takase will discuss differences in projected costs, energy supply assumptions, and CO2 reduction targets, prompting listeners to reflect on how these scenarios will alter their daily lives and what actions they can take to help realize the foundation's 90% scenario.
