On May 17, 2026, the much-anticipated Red Bull Basement Japan Final will take place at STATION Ai, the heart of open innovation in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. This global incubator program empowers students and first-time entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into viable products, leveraging mentorship and cutting-edge AI tools.

This year, the competition has witnessed an unprecedented wave of interest, with more than 3,020 ideas submitted from across Japan—an impressive leap from the previous year's total of 1,191 entries. This surge highlights the growing enthusiasm among young innovators eager to tackle societal challenges.

The updated application process, enhanced by AI technology, provides an inclusive environment where individuals can engage in meaningful dialogues with AI. This interaction fosters the development of pure ideas and a keen awareness of social issues, essential for devising innovative solutions.

Exciting Final Event on May 17


The Japan Final will bring together ten elite finalists who have triumphed through rigorous judging. Each participant will passionately pitch their ideas, vying for the coveted title of Japan's representative. The winner will secure a spot at the World Final from June 1 to June 3, 2026, in San Francisco—the epicenter of technology—and join a global community of innovators eager to elevate their projects further.

A Panel of Distinguished Judges


This year's panel includes high-profile judges from diverse fields. Notable among them is Rui Ueda, a prominent Red Bull athlete and entrepreneur, who has achieved world records and founded Mountain Frontier. Hiroto Nozaki, CTO of Microsoft Japan, brings his extensive experience in AI transformations. Additionally, Masato Sekine, a manager at AMD Japan, and AK-69, a renowned hip-hop artist and entrepreneur, will contribute their unique perspectives from sports, technology, and culture.
