Wakura Sake Brewery, a historic sake producer established in the Edo period, is making waves with its inaugural audition for the brand's first image girl, set to promote their premium sake offerings. Located in the beautiful Boso region of Chiba, specifically in Kimitsu City and Futtsu City, Wakura Brewery has upheld traditional sake-making methods while continuously innovating. Their signature sake, ‘Seisen’, and local sweet potato shochu, ‘Zenjiro’, have gained a loyal following.

From now until May 7, women over the age of 20 are invited to apply for this unique opportunity. The selection process is open to all women, regardless of agency affiliation or previous experience in modeling or performing arts. As part of their commitment to highlighting Japan’s rich brewing culture, the chosen image girl will serve as an ambassador for Wakura's exceptional sake products, particularly the famed ‘Seisen’.

Audition Details

Eligibility Criteria:

• - Women aged 20 and above.
• - Must agree to the audition process and be available for required events.
• - Availability on essential dates, including the photoshoot and promotional activities during the term of being the image girl.

Important Dates:

• - Audition Entry Deadline: May 7 at noon.
• - Preliminary Auditions: May 1 - May 7. Special kimono photoshoot session on May 5 or 6.
• - Final Auditions: May 18 - May 27.

Schedule for the Chosen Image Girl:

The winner will hold the title from June 2025 to April 2026. A key highlight will be participation in a photoshoot scheduled for June 2 and 3, alongside the significant photo exhibition event on June 21 at Shibuya’s Shidax Culture Hall. This exhibition will include additional locations in Gunma Prefecture (Ikaho), Chiba Prefecture (Kimitsu), and Kanagawa Prefecture (Nishisho, Kamakura).

Prizes and Awards

Grand Prize:

The top-ranked contestant will be crowned the First Image Girl of SAKEとよいビジュ, receiving the opportunity to feature in retro-style promotional posters and participate in promotional activities in the Boso region.

Runner-Up and Special Awards:

The second place will earn the title of First Image Girl of SAKEとよいビジュ Runner-up. Furthermore, Special Jury Awards will be presented to up to three contestants based on their attitude and performance throughout the audition, regardless of their final rankings.

Engagement through Social Media

To evaluate the participants, points accumulated from viewers on the streaming service, Machebara, will be considered for initial rounds. Following that, social media engagement, including reposts and likes on theme-related posts, will play a significant role in the final judgment.
