The 65th Kanda Book Festival: A Celebration of Books in Jimbocho
The charming district of Jimbocho, known for its vast collection of used books, is gearing up for its most vibrant season yet with the 65th Tokyo Kanda Book Festival, hosted by the Kanda Association of Bookstores. This much-anticipated event will unfold from
October 24 (Friday) to November 3 (Monday, holiday), 2025.
During this festival,
over 100 stalls will line the Yasukuni Street, creating a unique "Corridor of Books" extending approximately 500 meters. Each participating specialized used bookstore will showcase a diverse array of genres, providing a treasure trove of literature.
In addition to the popular open-air market and selected rare book exhibits, there will be exciting collaborations and new offerings this year. Fans of Rilakkuma will be delighted to find limited edition tote bags available for sale, as well as the latest "Jimbocho Used Bookstore MAP," which will be distributed for free. Another highlight includes the return of the talk show that celebrates its 12th year, alongside themed exhibitions on the Jimbocho area, ensuring an unforgettable experience for book enthusiasts.

Free Distribution of the 'Jimbocho Used Bookstore MAP 2026'
The official guide map will feature a cover illustration by Ao Kojima, the author of the popular used bookstore manga "Hon nara uru hodo," which is currently serialized in KADOKAWA's 'Harta' magazine. You can obtain this map for free at participating bookstores and the Tokyo Used Book Center.
Talk Show Featuring Kurata Hideyuki and Mikami Nobu
Celebrating its 10th year, the talk event features renowned scriptwriter Hideyuki Kurata and author Nobu Mikami. They will delve into various literary genres, including novels, mystery stories, and more. Don't miss this chance to hear them discuss the intricacies of books!

Jimbocho Photo Project
In an engaging educational initiative, students from universities within Chiyoda Ward will host a photo exhibition themed on the Jimbocho area. This project includes a 3D model of Jimbocho, interviews and memoirs about shopping at second-hand bookstores, informative videos, and more. As a special treat, visitors will receive handmade bookmarks made from washi paper.
