Renewable Diesel Achieves NETIS Registration: A Green Future for Construction Industry

Renewable Diesel Achieves NETIS Registration

Itochu Enex Co., Ltd., based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, recently announced that its Renewable Diesel (RD) has been officially registered in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's New Technology Information System (NETIS). This registration encompasses two variants: RD100% and RD40% (FINE DIESEL).

The Renewable Diesel offered by Itochu Enex is sourced from Neste Corporation, a leading company based in Finland, and represents a next-generation biofuel. This eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel is produced from waste materials such as used cooking oils and animal fats, ensuring it does not compete with food resources. The hydrogenated and refined product serves as a sustainable fuel option for construction machinery and vehicles that typically utilize diesel.

In terms of regulatory compliance, this Renewable Diesel is recognized as achieving a 100% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to conventional diesel, aligning with standards laid out in the relevant energy conservation laws. The company's two products, RD100% and the 40% blended RD40% (FINE DIESEL), are now certified as valid substitutes for traditional diesel, as confirmed by the recent NETIS registration.

The registration not only affirms the environmental benefits of Renewable Diesel but also opens up opportunities for its use in public works projects. When utilized in these projects, Renewable Diesel may result in additional points during the bidding process and improvements in work performance evaluations — a significant advantage for contractors seeking environmentally friendly solutions.
