National PTA's Back-to-School Week 2025
This week marks the annual Back-to-School Week hosted by the National PTA, where the organization aims to inspire and connect families, schools, and communities as students return to class. Back-to-School Week serves as a platform for the PTA to share vital information and resources, ensuring a smooth transition into the new academic year.
The PTA is making use of social media to disseminate information, utilizing the hashtag
#PTABackToSchool along with dedicated resources available at
PTA.org/BackToSchool. This initiative is heavily supported by Walmart as the proud national sponsor, alongside other key partners including The Children's Place—a leading children's retail brand—and Prodigy Education, an educational technology platform known for its engaging math competition.
Yvonne Johnson, the president of the National PTA, expressed the purpose behind Back-to-School Week: "Whether you're a parent, caregiver, teacher, student, or PTA leader, a new school year means new opportunities to come together, learn and grow. Our goal is to provide information, resources, and expertise to help build strong partnerships between families and schools, sustaining the success of students and their families throughout the year.”
In alignment with its mission to enhance student learning and well-being, the National PTA has committed over
$1 million in funding aimed at helping Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) run programs during the 2025-2026 school year. These programs cover a variety of topics, including digital safety, STEM education, health initiatives, and the arts, designed to foster growth and safety in schools. PTAs interested in applying for funding can find more information on the application process at
PTA.org/Grants, with the submission deadline set for
September 24 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
Additionally, the National PTA has partnered with
happy® products to deliver
one million cups of coffee to educators and staff in PTA-affiliated schools nationwide. This initiative aims to honor and support the crucial role that teachers and educational staff play in shaping the future of students. Further details about the coffee donation will be announced later in the fall.
Howie Berman, Executive Director of the National PTA, expressed gratitude towards their sponsors: "We are thankful to Walmart, The Children's Place, Prodigy Education, and happy products for backing our initiatives. Their support helps us in our continuous efforts to assist students, families, educators, and PTA leaders for a successful academic year."
