Abu Dhabi Film Commission Highlights Collaboration for Global Film Success with Now You See Me Now You Don't

The Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC), part of the Creative Media Authority (CMA), has recently released an intriguing behind-the-scenes video that delves into the making of Lionsgate’s latest film, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. This production marks yet another significant Hollywood project successfully filmed in the bustling capital of the United Arab Emirates, demonstrating the city's capacity to host large-scale international film projects.

The newly unveiled video not only captures the artistry and technical prowess behind the film's production but also highlights the strong collaborative spirit that underpins the partnership between various stakeholders. The ADFC worked hand-in-hand with Miral Destinations and local production service provider Epic Films to leverage Abu Dhabi’s top-tier production offerings and integrated film ecosystem. These collaborations are attracting international studios to the region, making Abu Dhabi a go-to destination for filmmakers.

During its opening weekend, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t grossed over $80.5 million globally, signaling its immediate impact in the international marketplace. The behind-the-scenes footage showcases the extensive teamwork involved in bringing this ambitious project to fruition, featuring an impressive crew of more than 450 professionals. Notably, 290 of these crew members hailed from international backgrounds, complemented by over 170 local freelancers from Abu Dhabi's thriving creative sector. This not only emphasizes the city’s growing pool of technical and creative talents but also exemplifies how local expertise can contribute to the achievement of world-class results.

The video further includes insightful interviews with key figures involved in the filmmaking process, such as director Reuben Fleischer, producer Bobby Cohen, Executive Vice President of Physical Production Kelly Konop, and production designer David Scheunemann. Their insights reveal how the seamless production support facilitated by the ADFC, including a 35%++ cashback rebate, streamlined approval processes, and on-ground assistance, significantly benefitted the project.

Sameer Al Jaberi, the head of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, remarked, "This film about filming is a tribute to the collaborative ecosystem that makes Abu Dhabi a truly film-friendly destination.
