Wafra Strengthens Expertise with New Adviser Appointments in Capital Constellation Network

Wafra Enhances Capital Constellation Adviser Network

In a significant move to fortify its advisory capabilities, Wafra Inc., a prominent alternative investment firm based in New York, has recently expanded its Capital Constellation adviser network by appointing two accomplished professionals, Amanda Heravi and Jacky Wu. This step aims to enhance support for emerging managers and strengthen the operational guidance available within Wafra's innovative investment platform.

Amanda Heravi takes on the role of Capital Formation Operating Adviser, leveraging her extensive experience in investor relations and capital formation. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong capacity to guide general partners (GPs) in establishing their capital formation strategies. This includes developing processes for investor relations, shaping effective fundraising strategies, and improving communication with limited partners.

Heravi's journey to Wafra has been marked by her pivotal role as a founding member of Avista Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm focused on healthcare. Her experience there, where she led the investor relations function through several successful fundraises, positions her uniquely to assist GPs in navigating the complex landscape of capital raising. "In my previous role, I saw firsthand the caliber of support the Constellation platform provides to its managers. I am thrilled to bring my partnership mindset, together with two decades of investor relations experience, to Constellation's GP partners," Heravi expressed, underlining her commitment to enhancing their investor relations and fundraising capabilities.

On the other hand, Jacky Wu joins Wafra as an Operations and Finance Operating Adviser, bringing rich expertise to this vital area. Having previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of DigitalBridge Group, a digital infrastructure investment manager that experienced a substantial transformation under Wafra’s support, Wu understands the challenges emerging firms face in scaling their financial infrastructure. His role will involve advising GPs on establishing robust financial and operational frameworks essential for growth, including reporting systems, budgeting, and forecasting.

Wu's insight into the intricacies of financial scaling is a testament to his previous experiences. Speaking on his new position, he said, "Scaling the financial infrastructure of a firm from reporting to planning is one of the hardest yet most critical parts of a firm's growth. I look forward to collaborating with Constellation's GP partners and mentoring their CFOs and accounting teams as they build the systems demanded by growth."

Heravi and Wu represent the initial wave of external appointments to Wafra's operating adviser network, which aims to combine seasoned professionals with diverse expertise to support the firm’s clients in achieving their growth objectives. This initiative is particularly timely, following the recent successful closure of $2.0 billion for Constellation Generation V, marking a pivotal moment in Wafra’s commitment to nurturing emerging managers since their entry into this strategy in 2012.

The firm’s commitment to providing not just capital but also strategic guidance and expert resources shows their dedication to fostering long-term collaborative relationships with their partners. Adel Alderbas, Chief Investment Officer at Wafra and President of Capital Constellation, articulated this commitment, stating, “Constellation is focused on offering more than just financial support; we are committed to providing extensive expertise that will help the firms we support build lasting businesses.”

With Wafra's headquarters located in New York and additional offices in London and Bermuda, the firm continues to expand its influence and operational reach within the alternative investment landscape. Wafra manages around $30 billion in assets and has developed a reputation for providing flexible investment solutions tailored to high-quality asset owners, companies, and management teams.

The appointments of Heravi and Wu not only reflect Wafra's growth but also highlight the firm’s proactive approach in enhancing the value creation provided to their client base. As they continue to build and refine their operating adviser network, it is clear that the firm is dedicated to supporting the next generation of investment management leaders in their quest for sustainable success.
