Huawei Unveils Revolutionary Triple Foldable Phone at MWC 2025

The highly anticipated Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 kicked off on March 3 in Barcelona, Spain, where Huawei revealed its breakthrough product: the HUAWEI Mate XT, the world's first commercial triple foldable smartphone. This innovative device features proprietary hinge technology that allows the screen to fold inwards on one side and outwards on the other, redefining mobile design.

Showcasing Innovative Technology

In addition to the Mate XT, Huawei showcased a range of its premium flagship products, illustrating how its latest advancements in technology can enhance everyday life. Visitors had the opportunity to explore dedicated experience zones, focusing on foldable devices, health and fitness applications, photography, and creative tools. The event highlighted how Huawei integrates cutting-edge technology into functional and stylish products.

One of the main attractions at Huawei's booth was a large display that showcased the 3D effects of the new triple foldable phone, emphasizing its unique abilities through vivid and engaging visuals. Additionally, the HUAWEI Mate 70 series, equipped with an Ultra Chroma Camera that delivers exceptional color accuracy, was also featured prominently.

Experience Zones

Each experience zone offered attendees a hands-on glimpse of Huawei's technology in action. The Intelligence Scenario area allowed users to engage with features like multiple exposure and AI retouching, demonstrating the phone's photography capabilities. Meanwhile, the Mate X6 area introduced innovative materials incorporated into the phone, inviting participants to experience its remarkable thermal conductivity firsthand by cooling ice with a graphene layer.

The Future of Wearables

Huawei also presented its extensive array of wearables, simulating real-world sports and health scenarios. In the cycling experience zone, participants could compare real-time heart rate data from professional monitors with readings captured by the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5, showcasing the TruSense system's rapid and accurate vital monitoring capabilities. The Health Glance area displayed multiple health metrics measured by the medically approved HUAWEI WATCH D2, which is the first smart wearable device of its kind to include a wrist-based blood pressure monitor.

In recent years, smart wearables have become a significant growth driver for Huawei's consumer business, with the company leading the market in shipment volumes in the wearables segment. During the event, Huawei also highlighted the HUAWEI TruSense system, introduced in September 2024, which analyzes users' health data to provide insights into their wellbeing. This advanced system was demonstrated in full at MWC 2025.

Creative Tools for Artistic Expressions

Another crowd-pleaser was the GoPaint experience zone, featuring art created through Huawei's MatePad, utilizing professional brush engines and GoPaint software, enhancing the artistic experience. Targeting both professional and amateur creators, Huawei launched the MatePad Pro 13.2" with an OLED PaperMatte Display that minimizes glare while providing vibrant colors for a seamless writing and drawing experience, closely mimicking pen and paper.

Accompanying this is the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation), offering a pressure sensitivity of up to 10,000 levels, allowing users to make the most out of the various brushes available in GoPaint. The MatePad Pro not only excels in creative applications but also boasts PC-grade capabilities with WPS Office and a user-friendly laptop interface, facilitating efficient multitasking with Live-Multitask features.

As the event unfolds, Huawei's commitment to innovation and design excellence truly shines, setting new standards in the smartphone market and beyond. With products like the Mate XT and the comprehensive wearable solutions, Huawei is positioned to shape the future of technology and consumer electronics vibrantly and compellingly.
