From Vision to Action: CIIE Promotes Global Development through Inclusive Cooperation
Amidst increasing global uncertainty and a growing anti-globalization sentiment, the China International Import Expo (CIIE) stands out as a vital platform fostering openness and collaboration. Recently, on June 25, in Geneva, the significance of CIIE as a catalyst for inclusive growth was further affirmed during a United Nations event titled "Together for the Fulfillment of the UN Agenda 2030—How CIIE Contributes to It." This gathering highlighted the indispensable role of CIIE in facilitating meaningful dialogue and partnerships globally.
Speakers from companies like dōTERRA and Warmpaca shared insights on how participating in CIIE has opened doors to the Chinese market. Since 2018, dōTERRA has collaborated with Guizhou Province, enhancing the value of traditional Chinese plants through innovation while significantly increasing incomes for local farmers. On the other hand, Warmpaca established its presence during the inaugural CIIE, engaging with over 1,000 families who manually process alpaca wool. This venture not only expanded Warmpaca's market reach in China but also propelled its growth into international markets, creating jobs and empowering local communities.
As the event approaches, preparations for CIIE have entered a dynamic phase. A specialized networking function held on May 22 in Chongqing successfully linked nearly 40 exhibitors with over 110 local buyers, laying a solid foundation for enhanced collaboration ahead of the expo. This year, over 280,000 square meters of exhibition space has already been reserved, and the fair's organizational structure has been optimized, prioritizing innovation, advanced technologies, and premier services.
Furthermore, the upcoming China-Central Asia Summit is expected to facilitate deeper exchanges and collaborations. Central Asian countries, which have been regular participants of CIIE, leverage this platform to strengthen their relationships with China. At the seventh edition of CIIE, for instance, Kazakhstani enterprises showcased a record variety of high-quality products to the Chinese market.
The eighth edition of CIIE is anticipated to attract a diverse range of exhibitors and professional buyers from various sectors. Alongside the expo, a High-Level Forum (HQF) will take place, serving as a key platform for dialogue on open economies and inclusive globalization. In summary, the CIIE has proven instrumental in connecting global businesses and fostering an environment conducive to cooperative growth. As we move towards this significant event, the anticipation of new opportunities and collaborations among international stakeholders continues to build.
