Enhancing English Proficiency Through Eiken® at J PREP Seminar

J PREP's Seminar: Mastering English Skills with Eiken®

On September 6, 2026, J PREP, an English education company located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is hosting a special seminar aimed at elementary and junior high school students and their parents. The seminar, titled "Utilizing Eiken® for Effective English Learning: A Roadmap to Real English Proficiency up to Pre-1 Level", will take place at the J PLAZA headquarters.

At J PREP, we believe that learning English should go beyond merely passing exams. Eiken® is often viewed as just a qualification to pass, but we advocate for its use as a significant milestone to measure practical English skills. This seminar will offer insights into effective learning methods that expand future opportunities for students.

A Transformative Era in English Education

Japanese English education is undergoing a significant transformation. Despite these advancements, many students still rely on rote memorization and grammar translation, treating English as a puzzle to solve for test scores. This has led to a trend of “qualification collectors,” where students focus solely on passing Eiken®, without genuine comprehension or practical use of the language.

Today’s world demands more than just knowledge of English; it requires the ability to form opinions and communicate them in a clear and insightful manner. This seminar presents a realistic approach to achieving CEFR B2 level (equivalent to Eiken® Pre-1) by high school. Jun Saito will outline necessary learning steps that guide students towards this goal.

Real-World English Learning Roadmap

The seminar will delineate attainable timelines for each grade level: achieving Eiken® Grade 2 in 8th or 9th grade, level Pre-2 in 7th grade, and levels 3 and 4 in 6th grade. Each stage will emphasize specific focus areas and suggest how families can effectively support their child’s learning. The seminar will also outline key points that should be married to the appropriate learning stages.

Moreover, we aim to help parents transition from traditional memorization strategies to support their children in becoming self-motivated learners. Understanding how skills gained through Eiken® can open doors for high school and university admissions, as well as studying abroad, will also be a focal point of discussion.

Addressing Common Concerns

This event will answer several common questions, such as:
  • - What level of Eiken® should my child aim for and by when?
  • - How can I translate Eiken® study into practical English skills for conversations and school performance?
  • - Am I ensuring my child develops functional English skills without relying solely on memorization?
  • - What roadmap enables focused and efficient English learning for university admissions or studying abroad?
