Cloudbase Joins NCPC to Enhance Cybersecurity Standards in Japan

Cloudbase Joins NCPC and Reveals Cybersecurity Scores

Cloudbase Inc., based in Minato, Tokyo, announced its membership in the Nippon Cybersecurity Promotion Community (NCPC) as of April 2026. This community aims to visualize and enhance the reliability of security within Japanese products and services, thereby fostering trust in these offerings.

The NCPC is a dedicated community that engages various stakeholders—member companies, vendors, and experts—to collectively evaluate security standards based on fair criteria. Recently, Cloudbase and its product, Cloudbase AI, have been evaluated under NCPC's new cybersecurity metric known as the 'Japan Score.'

Understanding the Japan Score

The 'Japan Score' acts as a new benchmark to assess the domestic autonomy of Japanese cybersecurity products and services. As geopolitical risks and cyber threats intensify, this score evaluates whether products and services can operate, maintain, and protect themselves autonomously within Japan, moving beyond surface-level information like the mere existence of a local office.

This evaluation focuses on five key dimensions:
1. Company Attributes and Credibility
2. Governance and Legal Rights
3. Autonomy in Development Lifecycle
4. Control over Infrastructure and Data
5. Emergency Response and Incident Management

Cloudbase, through the NCPC, has received substantial Japan Scores for its products as follows (out of a total of 2,500 points, including domestic bonuses):
  • - Exposure Management Platform, Cloudbase: Total score of 2,489
  • - AI Governance Platform, Cloudbase AI: Total score of 2,473

Both products achieved full marks in three categories: Company Attributes and Credibility, Autonomy in Development Lifecycle, and Emergency Response and Incident Management.

Cloudbase’s Vision and Future Endeavors

Operating under the mission “Creating an Era Where Japanese Companies Change the World,” Cloudbase aims to offer a risk-free environment for companies to utilize technologies like cloud computing and AI without security concerns. The company is dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of Japanese businesses, ensuring their security operations are sustainable and effective.

Cloudbase believes that simply delivering a product isn't enough to maintain operational continuity. It emphasizes the necessity of ongoing improvements tailored to customer needs, coupled with a responsive support system to address urgent requirements. To this end, Cloudbase has established a self-sufficient operational framework for development, maintenance, and customer support domestically, aligning its commitment to substantial domestic autonomy, as highlighted by the Japan Score.

Going forward, Cloudbase is committed to fortifying its foundations that enable continuous and independent cybersecurity support for businesses in Japan through the development and provision of Cloudbase and Cloudbase AI.
