NANTONG, China, September 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ – RAINBOWCO (SZ002483), a global frontrunner in high-quality manufacturing of port container equipment, has announced a significant strategic upgrade. Effective from September 1, 2025, the equipment produced at its Taicang facility will transition from the joint brand GENMA-KALMAR to a unified brand, "GENMA". This pivotal move aims to strengthen the global influence of the GENMA brand, marking a new chapter in RAINBOWCO's expansion journey.

Strengthening Global Presence



Post-modernization, RAINBOWCO's product portfolio will focus on two primary brands: GENMA and KOCH. The company, founded in 2003, operates five manufacturing plants worldwide, employing over 3,600 staff members and reporting revenues exceeding $1 billion in 2024. Its container equipment is manufactured by Jiangsu Rainbow Industrial Equipment Co., Ltd. (RIC), a wholly-owned subsidiary headquartered in Taicang, China.

Since entering into a strategic alliance with global equipment giant Cargotec in 2004, RAINBOWCO has continually progressed in the port equipment sector. Key milestones over the years include:

  • - 2012: Establishment of a joint venture with Cargotec in Taicang aimed at design, manufacturing, and global services for Kalmar heavy port cranes under the dual-brand strategy KALMAR and GENMA.
  • - 2020: The joint venture completed a strategic restructuring and was renamed RIC, optimizing operations while enhancing localization efforts.
  • - 2022: RIC secured global intellectual property rights for heavy port cranes from Kalmar and launched the co-brand GENMA-KALMAR to merge technological strengths and expand into global high-tech markets.
  • - 2025: Brand update reveals GENMA as a key container machinery brand focused on ports, initiating a new era in premium equipment manufacturing globally.
