Recovery Centers of America Partners with Optum to Increase Insurance Access

Recovery Centers of America (RCA), a leading name in evidence-based addiction treatment, has made significant strides towards enhancing accessibility for patients seeking substance abuse disorder care by teaming up with Optum. Announced on September 3, 2025, this collaboration aims to provide comprehensive support to individuals in need across several states, including Indiana, New Jersey, and South Carolina.

Optum, known as one of the largest health insurers in the nation, now includes RCA facilities at Indianapolis, Greenville, and Lighthouse in its network. This pivotal agreement allows patients to gain access to high-quality care across various levels of substance use treatment, including Detox, Residential, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The current transformation significantly reduces the financial burden for patients and their families by ensuring that a majority of treatment services will be covered by insurance.

The RCA facility in Indianapolis now accepts Optum for all levels of care, marking a critical step in providing comprehensive services to those recovering from addiction. Meanwhile, RCA at Greenville has become one of the select providers in the region to offer a full spectrum of in-network outpatient services, further solidifying its commitment to maintaining continuity of care from detoxification through outpatient treatment. Additionally, RCA at Lighthouse’s inclusion in the Optum network reinforces RCA’s mission to offer support for individuals overcoming addiction in New Jersey.

With these in-network agreements with not only Optum but also with Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Cigna, RCA is estimated to cover 85-90% of commercially insured lives within these states. This extensive coverage will ensure that patients have the support they need to navigate their recovery without the added complexity concerning their insurance responses.

Mark Faselle, RCA's Vice President of Payor Relations, emphasized the ease of care for patients and families, stating, “Patients and families shouldn't have to navigate a maze of insurance coverage when seeking life-saving care. With Optum now in-network, we can provide peace of mind to patients and referral sources alike, knowing that in most cases, treatment will be covered.” This assurance is particularly important in the realm of addiction treatment, where timely access to care can be the difference between recovery and relapse.

RCA remains steadfast in its mission to save lives impacted by addiction and mental health disorders. With a full continuum of evidence-based services offered at state-of-the-art facilities in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Southeast, RCA is poised to make a lasting impact. The organization provides 24/7 patient admissions, transportation, family support services, and a focus on personalizing care to suit individual needs, enhancing the chances of long-term recovery and successful reintegration into society.

Dedicated to innovation in the field, RCA takes pride in having several of its facilities recognized among Newsweek's America's Best Addiction Centers for their outstanding services. As RCA expands its reach through partnerships with major insurers like Optum, it continues to set the standard for addiction treatment, ensuring more individuals can access the care crucial for living a fulfilling life free from addiction.

Recent publications highlight RCA’s commitment to excellence, and this expansion with Optum is another testament to their dedication to providing accessible, effective treatment for those in need. To learn more about their services or inquire about treatment, visit Recovery Centers of America.
