Expanding North American Participation in Alimentaria + Hostelco 2026

In a significant development for the food and hospitality sectors, both the United States and Canada are set to increase their presence at the forthcoming Alimentaria + Hostelco 2026. This major international trade fair, which will take place from March 23 to 26, 2026, at the Fira de Barcelona, has positioned itself as a leading platform for food, beverages, food service, and hospitality equipment. The event will highlight the growing interest of North American companies, with participation increasing by approximately 20% compared to the previous edition in 2024.

A Strong Delegation from North America

Over thirty companies from the U.S. and Canada will be exhibiting this year, filling an area of more than 300 m². Notable American retailers such as Walmart, Kroger, and The Fresh Market plan to showcase their products, alongside other major players including H.E.B. and World Market. The involvement of Canadian firms is equally impressive, with significant representation from Avril and Tree of Life.

This increased participation underscores the strong export positions of both countries in key categories including nuts, beans, bakery products, snacks, and legumes—sectors where they have demonstrated considerable global competitiveness.

International Growth at Alimentaria + Hostelco

Alimentaria + Hostelco continues to solidify its reputation for international engagement, with overall participation from international companies rising by 41% since 2024. This year, organizers expect around 3,300 exhibiting companies, drawing attendance from over 70 countries. With nearly 1,000 international exhibitors expected, Asian, European, and Latin American markets will particularly showcase their variety of products.

With projections estimating nearly 110,000 professional visitors, it’s anticipated that 25% of these attendees will come from international markets, including significant numbers from both the U.S. and Canada, accounting for roughly 17% of the total international visitor count.

A HUB for Industry and Networking

Marking its 50th anniversary, Alimentaria + Hostelco is a crucial networking opportunity for businesses looking to expand their international reach. The event will occupy 100,000 m² of exhibition space, encompassing seven pavilions within the expansive Gran Via venue. This platform allows for unparalleled engagement between producers, suppliers, and distributors, connecting the industry with future opportunities.

As the fair draws closer, anticipation builds around the opportunities for business development, international collaboration, and networking that Alimentaria + Hostelco 2026 will provide. As a vital meeting point for key players in the global food and hospitality industries, this event continues to be a pivotal part of the calendar for professionals looking to stay ahead in a competitive landscape.
