Synology Introduces RS826RP+ and RS826+
On June 5, 2026, Synology announced the launch of its new storage solutions, the RackStation RS826RP+ and RS826+. These compact 1U 4-bay rackmount systems are specifically designed to aid small and medium-sized enterprises (SMBs) in effectively managing and protecting their data across edge and remote environments.
Uncompromising Performance
The RS826RP+ and RS826+ are built to deliver reliable performance and flexible scalability, making them ideal for branch offices and distributed installations. According to Susan Yen, Synology’s Product Manager, “These systems provide a powerful performance in a compact form factor, enabling seamless network upgrades, SSD caching, and storage expansion of up to 8 bays.” These enhancements facilitate faster file access and efficient collaboration, ultimately boosting team productivity.
Powering these systems is a 4-core AMD Ryzen™ V1500B processor, which enables sequential read/write speeds exceeding 2,000/1,300 MB/s. This remarkable performance significantly accelerates file-sharing, synchronization, and backup operations between branch and remote locations. The inclusion of four 1GbE ports and a PCIe 3.0 expansion slot allows for a versatile network configuration, accommodating 10/25 GbE connections. Users can also integrate two Synology M.2 SSDs via adapter cards to further reduce latency through SSD caching.
Expandability and Reliability
Focusing on expandability and reliability, the RS826RP+ and RS826+ allow for a seamless increase in storage capacity from 4 bays to a maximum of 8 bays through the new Synology RX426 expansion unit. To ensure maximum uptime, the RS826RP+ features redundant power supplies, while both models support hot-swappable drive trays and online volume management for maintenance without operational interruptions.
A Comprehensive Suite of Features for Business Workloads
Packed with Synology's DiskStation Manager (DSM), the RS826RP+ and RS826+ come equipped with a wide array of integrated tools to meet the demands of modern business environments. One standout feature, Synology Drive, transforms the system into a private cloud, enabling cross-platform access and inter-site synchronization for distributed teams.
Additionally, the Synology Virtual Machine Manager and Container Manager enable VM storage, backup, and hosting capabilities, fully compatible with VMware®, Hyper-V®, Citrix®, and OpenStack. Lightweight VMs and containers for testing, sandboxing, and disaster recovery purposes are also readily available.
Another notable feature is Synology Tiering, which automatically moves infrequently accessed data between performance and capacity tiers to improve storage efficiency, thereby aiding organizations in optimizing their storage costs.
Availability
The RS826(RP)+ will be available starting June 5, 2026, through Synology’s global partner and distributor network. For more details, please refer to the RS826(RP)+ product page.
