Advancing Financial Education in Vietnam

On December 16, 2025, a significant milestone was achieved with the official partnership signing between the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV) and Vantage Foundation. This collaboration was formalized during a signing ceremony held at BAV's headquarters in Hanoi, creating a pathway for future educational initiatives aimed at elevating financial literacy in Vietnam.

Ceremony Highlights

The event was marked by the presence of prominent leaders and representatives from both entities. The Banking Academy was represented by key figures including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Hoang Anh, acting president; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, vice president; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Dung, director of the Banking Research Institute; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thang, head of the Human Resources Department. On the other hand, Vantage Foundation executives, such as Mr. Adam Siew, Vice President of Business Development, and Mr. Floyd Wang, Chief Representative in Vietnam, were also in attendance.

The ceremony commenced with a formal introduction of delegates, complemented by introductory videos that showcased the missions and strengths of both organizations. This laid the foundation for a partnership centered around shared educational goals, capacity building, and sustained human capital development.

Strengthening Financial Education

In her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham reiterated BAV's dedication to collaborating with international partners to enrich both the academic quality and practical delivery of financial education. Mr. Adam Siew emphasized the integral role of education in shaping future talent in a rapidly evolving, data-driven financial landscape. He noted that education is pivotal for sustainable development, especially as artificial intelligence and data analytics begin to fundamentally influence financial decision-making.

The highlight of the event was the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which officially cemented the partnership between BAV and Vantage. This MoU outlines mutual areas of cooperation that include the joint development of educational programs, utilization of international expertise and resources, and collective communication strategies to amplify the significance of financial education.

Initial Training Program

As a stepping stone under this partnership, both institutions are set to launch a pilot program entitled "Financial Data Analysis and Decision-Making in the Era of AI." This initiative is tentatively scheduled for late February to early March 2025, offering in-person sessions at BAV, while also accommodating online participation for individuals located outside Hanoi. Participants will receive completion certificates, marking a significant development in the financial education curriculum. Furthermore, the program will also involve collaboration with other leading universities within Vietnam, ensuring a broader reach and impact.

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic exchange of flowers and commemorative gifts, followed by an official group photo and networking among participants. It's noteworthy to mention that this event serves only as the official announcement of their strategic partnership, and no immediate training or student engagement activities were conducted at this stage.
