ACE Cash Express Raises Funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

In a commendable effort to support families battling childhood cancer, ACE Cash Express, part of the Populus Financial Group, has successfully raised more than $76,000 through its annual philanthropic initiative called the "Give A Little Campaign." This campaign is aimed at funding medical research and providing support to families affected by childhood cancer, aligning with the noble mission of the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).

During the entire month of May, ACE employees engaged in various fundraising activities, notably decorating stores in the cheerful colors of yellow and blue, which represents ALSF. They also hosted lemonade stands at different locations, embracing the foundation’s playful yet serious approach to raising awareness and funds. The engagement of employees and customers has fostered a community spirit while emphasizing the importance of fighting childhood cancer.

The culmination of the month’s efforts was marked by a generous donation presentation where ACE submitted a check of $76,423 to Liz and Jay Scott, co-executive directors of ALSF. These donations carry forward a legacy initiated by Alex Scott, who, burdened by her own battle with cancer, began selling lemonade at the tender age of four to fundraise for research, ultimately raising $1 million before her passing at just eight years old.

This year, ACE not only raised funds but also participated as a proud sponsor of the original Lemonade Stand event held at Penn Wynne Elementary School in Pennsylvania. This event celebrated the 26th anniversary of the first lemonade stand Alex held, which laid the groundwork for what would become the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the United States. Attendees were treated to a delightful lemon activity table where children could partake in decorating lemons, enhancing community bonding while also honoring Alex’s inspirational journey.

"For nearly a decade, ACE Cash Express has been an incredible supporter of the mission our daughter started with her lemonade stands," expressed Liz Scott, acknowledging ACE’s longstanding commitment. ALSF has become a leader in funding childhood cancer research and supporting affected families, having funded over 1,500 grants since 2005 and provided assistance to more than 15,000 families during their difficult times. This year’s Give A Little Campaign not only benefited ALSF but also raised approximately $160,000 nationwide for several charitable organizations, demonstrating the wide reach and influence of ACE's community efforts, reflecting a profound commitment at every level.
