Discover the Art of Creation: Featured Projects 2026 Festival to Celebrate Design

Discover the Art of Creation at Featured Projects 2026

The Featured Projects festival is set to return for its third edition, showcasing the theme "The Space of Creation" from September 25 to 27, 2026, at the Kokuyo Tokyo Shinagawa Office known as THE CAMPUS. This event, organized by Featured Projects Inc., aims to create a collaborative space where designers and creators can gather, engage in dialogue, and expand their creative horizons.

The Journey of Creation

In our rapidly evolving technological world, it's easier than ever to produce outputs through AI and various digital mediums. However, this convenience has often overshadowed the intrinsic processes and iterative trials that characterize the act of creation. The 2026 theme encourages attendees to explore the ‘space’ that exists in the midst of creation - focusing on the people, technologies, and overlapping ideas that contribute to the final product. This fresh perspective emphasizes not just the end results but the significance of the creative journey.

Engaging Programs for All Interests

This year, Featured Projects 2026 will revamp its programming to center around dialogue as a means to explore and experience the process of creation. Here are six engaging programs:

1. Talk Sessions: Featuring guest speakers from various design disciplines, these multiple sessions will delve into the year’s theme, promoting discussion and inspiration among attendees.

2. Creators Market: Around 50 creators will showcase their diverse products, providing opportunities for direct interaction between creators and visitors while celebrating creativity across sectors.

3. Exhibition: This theme-driven exhibition will uncover the creation process itself, featuring installations such as the emotion-analysis AI graphics and sponsor poster displays. Attendees will have the chance to connect with the underlying thoughts and processes behind each creation, rather than just the finished products.

4. Workshops: Attendees will have the chance to become creators themselves, engaging in hands-on workshops alongside professional creators. Family-friendly programs will ensure everyone can participate.

5. Table Talk: A new addition this year, this program will feature intimate discussions with a guest, allowing for deeper conversations over tea with a select number of participants.

6. Live Performances: Attendees will have the opportunity to experience live creative processes as performances unfold in front of them, bringing the energy of creation to life.

The Creative Process as an Experience

The festival's theme, "The Space of Creation," emphasizes understanding the iterative process of creation that leads to innovative outputs. This year's visuals, inspired by natural phenomena like the color-changing reactions of wet concrete, symbolize the evolving journey of creativity, celebrating the continuous accumulation of experiences that lead to delivering exceptional outcomes.

As part of this engaging experience, visitors will also be able to witness the creation of the festival’s unique typeface, FP MONO, designed with a grid structure that harmonizes both Latin and Japanese characters. This font will be unveiled at the event, showcasing how different writing systems can coexist while maintaining visual alignment and readability.

Featured Projects aims to empower and inspire attendees to not only appreciate the final designs but also to understand and value the effort and process behind them. Join us in redefining the relationship we have with creation and innovation, and contribute your voice to the conversation at Featured Projects 2026!
