WellRight Honored with Chronic Care Transformation Award at PHA 2026 Summit

WellRight's Achievement in Chronic Care Management

On October 29, 2026, WellRight, a leader in corporate wellness, was honored with the prestigious Chronic Care Transformation Award by the Population Health Alliance (PHA) at their annual summit held in Washington, D.C. This award, generously sponsored by the Stone Family in memory of Robert E. Stone, former president of PHA, acknowledges exceptional contributions to improving population health.

WellRight's Senior Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and Government Programs, Charlie Zei, accepted the award, which acknowledges the organization's vital role in helping businesses identify health risks early and enhance participant engagement in wellness programs. This recognition follows a thorough evaluation of WellRight’s methods and outcomes, underscoring the effectiveness of their approach in closing the gap between preventive care offerings and actual program engagement.

The Importance of Chronic Care Management

Chronic diseases account for an astounding 90% of healthcare expenditures in the United States, as reported by the CDC. Factors such as high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar levels, obesity, tobacco use, and inadequate preventive care lead to soaring costs and suffering. Many organizations invest in myriad health screenings and wellness benefits, but the real challenge lies in ensuring employees utilize these resources effectively.

In accepting the award, Zei emphasized WellRight's dedication to addressing this challenge, stating, "Most organizations already invest in screenings and wellness programs, but the gap is getting people to use them. This recognition reflects the work our team and our clients do daily to discover health risks early and support participants in making impactful lifestyle changes."

How WellRight Enhances Population Health

WellRight employs a multifaceted approach that incorporates early risk identification, personalized support, and professional coaching into a unified platform. Here’s a closer look at the components of their program:

  • - Risk Identification: Participants undergo an NCQA-certified Health Risk Assessment and biometric screening, either on-site or through personal physicians. This proactive measure helps in identifying potential health issues before they escalate.
  • - Personalized Support: Through the WellPaths program, participants are placed into specific tracks addressing various conditions such as diabetes, heart health, and mental health. Tailored educational resources and targeted activities are provided to encourage participation and reward positive behavior.
  • - Coaching: WellRight employs certified health and wellness coaches to engage with participants and their families through multiple communication channels, including phone, email, and video consultations. These coaches also coordinate referrals to additional health management services as necessary.
  • - Guidance: The company’s WellChat feature serves as a conversational health assistant, helping participants navigate their benefits and participate actively in their wellness journey.
  • - Measurement of Impact: Administrators gain insights through population-level reporting, which allows them to analyze risks and results across various biometrics and identify areas requiring additional outreach.

Results and Positive Impact

WellRight currently caters to 846 active accounts spanning 32 industries, including corporate entities, health systems, and government programs. Key statistics from WellRight’s operations reveal that 59% of participants complete the health assessment, 68% undergo biometric screening, and 61% actively engage with the program. The platform enjoys a satisfaction rate of 93% among users, with an astounding 99.8% satisfaction rate for those receiving coaching services.

In a notable assessment involving a multi-state health system comprising over 40,000 employees, an analysis over three years showcased remarkable financial results, estimating a total value of $89.5 million compared to a program expenditure of $50.5 million, culminating in net savings of $39.1 million. The health system attributed a significant portion of these savings to increased preventive care participation and biometric screening utilization, amounting to around $11.9 million.

Zei highlighted the significance of participant engagement, stating, "As health plans and ACOs assume greater responsibility for chronic disease management, engagement will be what transforms funding and clinical strategies into measurable health outcomes. That’s where WellRight’s focus lies."

A Commitment to Wellness

WellRight remains steadfast in its mission to design impactful wellness programs that yield tangible results for organizations. Its adaptable enterprise-class platform facilitates the creation of customized programs aimed at boosting participation, enhancing health outcomes, and generating favorable ROI, all while streamlining administrative processes.
