A groundbreaking ceremony has recently taken place for the Hiyori Hotel at Kintetsu Nara Station, a project under the auspices of Sun Frontier Hotel Management, a subsidiary of Sun Frontier Real Estate. Nara Prefecture ranks eighth in Japan for the rate of incoming foreign tourists, however, the number of accommodations does not meet demand, placing it at 32nd in terms of overnight stays. Recognizing the need for more hotel options, NTT West Japan Asset Planning has decided to develop the Hiyori Hotel as part of its initiative to revitalize regional tourism and make effective use of local land.

Positioned just a one-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station, the Hiyori Hotel is strategically located near historical and cultural sites, including Nara Park, Todai-ji, and the traditional townscape of Naramachi. This prime location not only serves leisure travelers but also business visitors, making it an ideal hub for multiple purposes. The hotel is expected to contribute to the local economy by attracting more visitors to the area when it opens in the spring of 2027.
