The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series has accomplished a remarkable feat, achieving the highest viewership in its history with the recent Texas NHRA FallNationals telecast on FOX. The thrilling event, which took place at the Texas Motorplex, captivated a staggering 2.065 million viewers. This broadcast not only marks a record for the NHRA but also highlights a growing interest in drag racing as a mainstream sport.

Significant Milestones in Broadcasting

The Texas NHRA FallNationals aired on a Sunday, coinciding with the fourth race of the six-race Countdown to the Championship playoffs. This event reached an impressive peak audience of 3.631 million viewers, showcasing a rising trend in the popularity of the sport. The excitement surrounding this event followed a prior successful broadcast of the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, which attracted 1.036 million viewers, marking it as the most viewed live U.S. Nationals telecast to date.

With this broadcast, NHRA achieved a new milestone by being the first to have a single event attract over two million viewers, a significant achievement for the organization and the sport itself. Steve Reintjes, NHRA Vice President of Broadcast, praised the exceptional production team's efforts, emphasizing their dedication and passion in delivering the thrilling action of drag racing to fans.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

The success of the broadcast is a testament to the collaboration with various stakeholders. Reintjes credited the Meyer family and the Texas Motorplex team for their vital support, as well as the contributions from FOX Sports, race teams, and sponsors. This synergy enabled them to present an electrifying experience to a broader audience.
