Osaka Gas Seminar: Advancing Energy Transition and e-Methane Technology Development

Osaka Gas Seminar on Energy Transition and e-Methane

On February 16, the Japan Planning Institute (JPI) is hosting a crucial seminar featuring Mr. Kota Yokoyama, the manager of the Carbon Neutral Methane Development Team at Osaka Gas. He will elaborate on the company's initiatives toward energy transition and the technical advancements required for implementing e-methane in society.

As part of its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, Osaka Gas is actively pursuing various strategies to decarbonize city gas, shifting from natural gas to e-methane as the primary raw material. E-methane, being structurally similar to natural gas, allows for a seamless transition within the existing urban gas supply chain, ensuring that this shift is especially smooth for consumers.

The seminar will delve into the following key areas:
1. Daigas Group Initiatives for Energy Transition: Understanding how Osaka Gas, as part of the Daigas Group, is approaching the energy transition to meet environmental goals.
2. Technical Development for e-Methane Implementation: An in-depth look at the innovations and research being conducted to bring e-methane to the forefront of urban energy use.
3. Q&A Session: An interactive segment allowing participants to pose questions directly to the speaker, fostering a deeper understanding of the topics discussed.
