Aurise Foundation Launches XAUE: A New Gold-Backed Yield Token for Investors

Aurise Foundation Introduces XAUE

In a significant development for the investment landscape, the Aurise Foundation has launched XAUE, a gold yield token designed specifically to function as a treasury layer for Tether Gold (XAU₮). This innovative asset aims to create returns within the cryptocurrency realm, an area where traditional gold has traditionally been seen as a non-yielding investment.

XAUE emerges at a time when investors are increasingly looking for ways to leverage the value of gold in the digital space. It is primarily aimed at qualified institutional investors, allowing them to engage with gold in a manner that not only preserves its value but also enables the generation of returns. By integrating this yield mechanism, XAUE transforms gold into a programmable, capital-efficient asset within the blockchain ecosystem.

At the launch, significant contributions were made by ecosystem partners Aurelion and Antalpha, which infused approximately 16,052 XAU₮ into XAUE — a value nearing 76 million USD as of April 22. The interest surrounding XAUE indicates a growing potential for integration into major decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, further establishing XAUE as a fundamental asset for collateral and settlement in blockchain finance.

Redefining Gold’s Role in Finance

Gold has long been recognized as a hedge against inflation and systemic risk. However, its effectiveness as a capital-efficient asset has been limited in structure. While gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have enhanced accessibility, they lack the liquidity that can be found in digital assets. Digital gold assets such as XAU₮ and PAXG have certainly improved global transferability and accessibility. Yet, they still mainly rely on price appreciation to create value without providing intrinsic returns.

XAUE aims to fill this critical gap. It retains exposure to the underlying value of XAU₮ while incorporating a yield-generating mechanism denominated in gold. This design enables holders of XAUE to enjoy compounding growth measured in gold units. For instance, if one were to deposit 1 XAU₮ to receive 1,000 XAUE tokens (under a specific fractional model), the annual yield of 2% would result in the reserve growing to 1.02 XAU₮ while the XAUE supply remains constant. Consequently, 1,000 XAUE would eventually redeem for 1.02 XAU₮, thereby yielding passive, automatically compounding returns in gold.

About XAUE

XAUE is a decentralized asset enhancement protocol constructed on the Ethereum blockchain, designed explicitly as a treasury layer for Tether Gold (XAU₮). By providing gold-denominated yields, compliant access frameworks, efficient reserves verification, and a fractional model dubbed 10001, XAUE seeks to redefine how gold operates within on-chain financial systems.

About the Aurise Foundation

The Aurise Foundation, based in Panama, has created XAUE as a DeFi protocol on Ethereum that acts as a treasury for Tether Gold (XAU₮). It allows for returns on gold through quantitative strategies and institutional lending, remaining fully backed by physical gold or XAU₮. The foundation, along with its partners, manages governance, audits, reserve proof, and compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. Access to XAUE is restricted to whitelist institutions that have undergone KYC/KYB verification in eligible jurisdictions.
