Celebrate Multicultural Coexistence at the Education Festa

On June 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the Suginami Ward Committee of the Tokyo Youth Conference will co-host the “Learning x Festival Education Festa” at Omiya Elementary School in Suginami, Tokyo. This exciting event is designed for community children and their parents, aiming to provide a lively space where participants can learn about the importance of multicultural coexistence.

The Education Festa features various interactive booths where local families can experience games from different cultures, try on international outfits, and enjoy cultural presentations from Ukraine and Africa. Additionally, local food vendors will offer international cuisine, making the event a delightful experience for both children and parents to immerse themselves in multicultural activities. Participants can also engage in a unique “characteristic diagnosis workshop” and experience the Paralympic sport “Boccia,” providing hands-on understanding of diversity and differences.

Suginami Ward's initiative aligns with its “Suginami Multicultural Coexistence Basic Policy,” aimed at creating a harmonious community where all residents respect each other's rights and cultures. The Education Festa emphasizes exposing children to different cultures and enhancing their awareness of a coexistence society.

• - 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Afternoon Program featuring cultural presentations from Ukrainian and African communities.

The Education Festa is organized by the Tokyo Youth Conference Suginami Ward Committee in collaboration with Omiya Elementary School, the Suginami Exchange Association, FC Tokyo, CORE EDUCATION NPO, and the Dakaoshiyaki Project.
