Tokyo's Innovative Push with the Launch of SusHi Tech Global’s Fourth Startup Cohort

In November 2023, Tokyo will unveil its updated startup initiative, the “Global Innovation Strategy 2.0 STARTUP ＆ SCALEUP.” This strategy emphasizes global outreach and support for promising companies aiming for substantial growth. The goal of the “SusHi Tech Global Startups” program is to identify and facilitate promising startups that possess exceptional technology, ultimately guiding them towards global success. In an effort to foster a sustainable society that does not solely rely on fossil fuels, a new program focused on enhancing resilience in resource and energy structures is also being introduced. This program will similarly offer financial backing up to 200 million yen per enterprise.

In addition, those startups completing either the growth acceleration program or the energy resilience enhancement initiative will have the opportunity to be selected for the “Global × Scale-up Program.” This prestigious program is expected to offer further funding support capped at 1 billion yen for startups with exceptional prospects for growth.
