SINEXCEL's StellaON Receives TÜV SÜD Certification for Voltage Grids in Germany

SINEXCEL's StellaON Achieves TÜV SÜD Certification

On October 22, 2026, SINEXCEL, a leading energy solutions company, announced the successful acquisition of TÜV SÜD certification for its energy conversion systems (PCS) - the StellaON 1250K/1575K. This significant milestone validates compliance with essential German standards for medium, high, and extra-high voltage grids, including VDE-AR-N 4110, 4120, and 4130.

Importance of Certification

The TÜV SÜD certification is pivotal for enhancing the reliability and performance of the StellaON systems in Germany. It signals approval for integration into projects involving battery storage connected to public electric networks at various grid levels. This certification was granted after thorough evaluations of the convertors' behavior during network faults, their active/reactive power management, and responses to frequency changes. The process integrates FGW TR3 testing with model validation as per TR4 and is part of the wider TR8 program.

Enhancements and Features

The StellaON system features an innovative dark start capability, achieving an impressive efficiency of 98.5% at full load. It maintains significant performance even in scorching temperatures of up to 55 °C, showcasing its reliability under extreme conditions. Moreover, the system can deliver 1.5 times its rated output for 60 seconds, a crucial feature for grid stability during unexpected fluctuations. Enhanced cooling mechanisms with variable speeds keep noise levels at a minimal 65 dB, making it suitable for installations in noise-sensitive areas.

Impact on Developers and EPC Providers

For developers and Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) service providers, this certification simplifies the selection process for PCS technology and aids in preparing the technical specifications needed for connection requirements. Moreover, it lays the groundwork for power plant certification and connection approval, although specific project requirements will still be evaluated separately at the plant level.

Global Applications and Future Certifications

StellaON has previously achieved EU certification along with national approvals in Germany, Poland, Romania, and various other markets. Furthermore, it is now authorized for deployment in countries including Romania, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Certification efforts are underway in the United States, Spain, Austria, and Chile, with completion anticipated by late 2026.

Currently, over 15 StellaON projects across Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and Africa are in stages of system integration, delivery, or commissioning. The volume of orders exceeded 500 MW in the first half of 2026 alone. The StellaON PCS has also been validated in nations like Vietnam and Myanmar, proving its efficacy in challenging environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity in island microgrid applications.
