In a significant move aimed at bolstering its leadership team, Shoulder Innovations, Inc. has appointed Drew Hykes to its Board of Directors effective February 26, 2026. This strategic appointment comes at a time when the company is focused on expanding its impact in the shoulder surgical care market. Hykes, who has accrued over 25 years of extensive experience in the medical technology sector, is well-positioned to contribute to the company’s mission of transforming shoulder surgical procedures.

Shoulder Innovations, known for its innovative approaches in shoulder arthroplasty, announced that Hykes will also serve on the Compensation Committee of the Board. This aligns with the company's strategy to scale its innovative surgical solutions and expand its footprint across healthcare settings. He joins the Board following the resignation of Geoff Pardo, an Independent Director, who has been recognized for his invaluable contributions during his three-year tenure.

Rob Ball, the CEO and Executive Chairman of Shoulder Innovations, expressed enthusiasm about Hykes's appointment, stating, “Drew is a proven healthcare leader and we are thrilled to welcome him to Shoulder Innovations. His strategic expertise in various facets of medical technology will be instrumental in enhancing our operational capacity and fostering growth.”

In his previous roles, Hykes has demonstrated his capabilities at both Inari Medical and Medtronic. He recently served as the CEO of Inari Medical until its acquisition by Stryker Corporation in 2025, where he led the company’s operational strategies. Before Inari, he was involved in creating commercialization strategies at Sequent Medical, overseeing the successful launch of the WEB Aneurysm Embolization system into the European market. His broad experience also includes significant roles at Medtronic, where he held multiple leadership positions across different business units.

Expressing his excitement about joining the Board, Hykes remarked, “It is an honor to become a part of Shoulder Innovations at such a pivotal growth phase. I look forward to collaborating with the team to enhance access to our technologies and improve patient outcomes.”

Shoulder Innovations continues to focus on creating advanced systems for shoulder surgeries. These systems are designed with a patient-centered approach, aiming to enhance the overall surgical experience through innovations in preoperative planning, implant design, and procedural efficiency. The company’s ecosystem extends beyond devices to include enabling technologies, specialized instruments, and a collaborative environment that seeks to tackle the challenges within the shoulder surgical arena.

With Hykes on board, Shoulder Innovations is set to strengthen its strategic initiatives and expand its novel solutions to deliver better surgical outcomes for patients who require shoulder surgeries. As the market continues to evolve, the need for innovative medical solutions becomes even more critical, making this appointment timely and beneficial for Shoulder Innovations’ future trajectory in the healthcare landscape.

With a continued focus on improving surgical techniques and patient care, Shoulder Innovations is actively transforming how shoulder surgeries are performed, ensuring that patients receive quality care backed by advanced technology and expertise. As the company grows, the influence of experienced leaders like Hykes will be integral in navigating the dynamic challenges of the medical tech industry and driving success forward.
