Fathers Brewing Takes the Leap into Philadelphia's Beer Scene with Major Expansion

Fathers Brewing Expands into Philadelphia

Fathers Brewing, a brewery rooted in the concept of clean and organic beer, is stepping into the Philadelphia market, marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory. Launched in 2025, this USDA certified organic lager brand has quickly made a name for itself, thanks in part to its commitment to quality ingredients and brewing practices. The Philadelphia expansion, which commenced in September 2026, represents Fathers' first venture outside its home base in California.

The brewery is collaborating with Penn Beer Sales & Service and is leveraging digital platforms like GoPuff to ensure speedy delivery of its products. With an ambitious eye on retail strategy, Fathers Brewing has positioned itself to be available for delivery in some areas in as little as 15 minutes. This rapid access is crucial in a city renowned for its beer culture and community connection.

Lane Johnson, an Eagles’ star and a two-time Super Bowl Champion, has taken on the role of investor and ambassador for the brand. His involvement adds a strong local connection, as he believes Philadelphia embodies the culture and passion that align perfectly with the brand’s vision. Johnson shared, “Philadelphia was the first market outside California we wanted to enter. It has unbelievable beer culture, incredible loyalty and a real appreciation for brands that stand for something.”

To celebrate its entry into the city, Fathers Brewing has planned an event that coincides with the Eagles’ home opener on September 13. Celebrated chef Robert Irvine, known for his culinary expertise and dedication to the Eagles, will be at the tailgate, serving his take on Philadelphia’s iconic cheesesteak. Both Irvine and Fathers Brewing are excited about this collaboration, promising that fans will have an unforgettable experience as they enjoy the beer paired with gourmet food.

The expansion into Philadelphia comes on the heels of a record-breaking year for Fathers Brewing. The brand has been gaining ground in retail markets, achieving an incredible 672% year-over-year growth primarily brought by strong distribution and a loyal customer base. In just under a year since launching their packaged products, Fathers has secured its place as the number one organic beer brand in sales per store at Whole Foods Market in 2026. Its presence is growing further with placements in Sprouts Farmers Market, BevMo!, and Costco, which have reported exceptional same-store sales growth.

“We started Fathers because we believed there was room to rethink what an American lager could be,” said Conor Begley, co-founder of Fathers Brewing. The company's accolades at the World Beer Awards only boost their confidence in this shift toward a broader market; winning gold and bronze awards has validated their quality approach.

Fathers Brewing prides itself on crafting its Clean American Lager and Clean American Light Lager from organic ingredients while employing traditional brewing techniques. Investors and fans alike are optimistic about the brand's potential for nationwide recognition. The founders are meticulous in their approach, wanting to ensure that they can create a solid foundation in each market before expanding further.

Looking ahead, Fathers has plans to spread into Southern California in 2027 while continuing to strengthen its roots in Northern California. They are also gearing up for a significant promotional push around Super Bowl LXI week in Southern California, further emphasizing their goal of becoming a household name across the United States.

In summary, Fathers Brewing’s entry into Philadelphia not only marks a strategic growth step but also reflects their deep respect for craft beer culture. With its commitment to quality, local collaborations, and a clear vision for the future, Fathers Brewing is poised for success in the City of Brotherly Love and beyond. This move could be the beginning of a broader movement toward organic lagers in a market that has long celebrated quality brews.
