In a significant move for the agricultural sector, PI Industries Ltd. (PI) finalized its acquisition of Plant Health Care Plc (PHC) in August 2024, which included subsidiaries across the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, and various other markets. This strategic integration is a major step for PI, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing its global authority in biological products and sustainable agricultural solutions.

With over 80 years of experience, PI Industries has established itself as a fast-growing life sciences company, boasting a revenue of approximately $1 billion. Focused on innovation throughout the agricultural value chain—from exploration to market—PI combines research and development (R&D) with operational excellence in plant protection, biological products, and custom synthesis.

The integration of PHC into PI's operations means that the entity will now operate under the name PI AgSciences. This renaming reflects the company’s strategic goal of fortifying its portfolio in the realm of biological products. As the world navigates increasing challenges related to farming sustainability, PI AgSciences aims to support farmers around the globe through an expanded range of innovative crop solutions.

PI is active in over 40 countries and boasts a premium R&D ecosystem of over 700 scientists across four global locations, alongside seven production facilities. Their extensive capabilities place PI among the top five companies in specialized synthesis and production in the global AgChem industry. They have also been recognized in the SP Global Sustainability Yearbook for two consecutive years, reinforcing their position as a leader in biological products.

Following this acquisition, PI AgSciences is poised to leverage the expertise and technological strengths inherent within PHC's biological technology platform. The result is a significant enhancement of PI's biological products portfolio, further accelerating their innovation processes.

The global headquarters for PI AgSciences has been established in St. Louis, Missouri, strategically located in proximity to major agricultural innovations and research networks. The firm continues to maintain and develop regional operations in Brazil, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Spain, with a dedicated R&D center for biological products located in Seattle, Washington.
