JR Central Launches Doctor Yellow Amulet

In an exciting development for train enthusiasts and collectors, JR Central has announced the launch of the Doctor Yellow (T4 Series) amulet, set to debut on June 12, 2025, at 3:00 PM JST. Priced at ¥2,200 for the horizontal design and ¥2,000 for the vertical variants, these charming protective items will be available for purchase online. A special offer also includes a complete set of all designs for ¥12,000.

Features of the Doctor Yellow Amulet

The Doctor Yellow amulet boasts several remarkable features:

1. Genuine Paint Fragments

Each amulet contains a unique fragment of the original paint from the Doctor Yellow T4 Series, approximately 1 square centimeter in size. Colors vary among the fragments, featuring not only the signature yellow but occasionally shades of blue.

2. Anti-Slip Material

Inside the amulets, you'll find a special anti-slip material that was used in the real train to prevent slipping between its wheels and the tracks. This unique touch ensures that each amulet preserves a piece of the real Doctor Yellow's safety heritage.

3. Commemorative Design

Printed on the back of each amulet is the winning design from the 'Doctor Yellow Contest', showcasing the last run of Doctor Yellow against the stunning backdrop of Mount Ibuki. This print evokes a sense of nostalgia and connects fans to the train's storied history.

A representative from JR Central expressed that the Doctor Yellow has long been a symbol of reliable transportation on the Tōkaidō Shinkansen, cherished by many. This transition into an amulet form aims to keep the spirit of Doctor Yellow alive, representing safety and care in everyday life. By incorporating real elements from the train, they hope it serves as a personal guardian for its owners.

Acrylic Stand for Decoration

To accompany the amulet, an aesthetically pleasing acrylic stand will also be available for ¥700. This stand is designed to enhance the display of the amulet, allowing enthusiasts to showcase their love for Doctor Yellow in their homes. Featuring the 'Doctor Yellow' logo, it promises to be a striking piece.

Crowdfunding Success for Doctor Yellow Model

In addition to the amulet, JR Central also celebrated the successful crowdfunding of the Doctor Yellow O gauge model. Over ¥169 million was raised, exceeding the goal of ¥120 million with the contributions of 543 supporters. Funded by these generous backers, the project is set to begin design work and updates will be shared regularly via the JR Central MARKETING project page and social media channels.
