NCPDP Foundation Honors Xact Laboratories with Charles Pulido Excellence Award 2026
On May 4, 2026, Xact Laboratories was honored with the prestigious Charles Pulido, R.Ph. Excellence Award by the NCPDP Foundation during its Annual Technology Business Conference held in Scottsdale, Arizona. This recognition comes as a part of the Leadership Appreciation Dinner, which celebrates outstanding contributions to the healthcare industry.
Xact Laboratories received this accolade for its impressive completion of research that integrates pharmacogenomic (PGx) data effectively into pharmacist workflows. According to the study, nearly 95% of patients exhibited medication issues when assessed with PGx data. Moreover, 59% of the prescribers consulted agreed to limit access to certain medications based on the findings from PGx results. Notably, the strong patient engagement aspect was highlighted, with 87% of consultations being completed successfully. This showcases the growing significance of precision medicine in pharmacy practice.
As emphasized by J.W. Hill, the Executive Director of the NCPDP Foundation, this award acknowledges Xact Laboratories' unwavering commitment to collaboration, innovation, and making a meaningful impact within healthcare. The research showcases how utilizing pharmacogenomic data can lead to identifying clinically relevant medication challenges, promote safer prescribing practices, and enhance patient involvement in their treatment plans, thereby propelling forward the field of precision medicine.
Rob Todd, the CEO and Co-founder of Xact Laboratories, expressed heartfelt gratitude for receiving this award. He highlighted that the honor reflects the ability of various segments within the pharmacy and healthcare sphere to unite towards a common goal of genetic medication optimization in everyday hospital practices.
