Huawei Unveils Revolutionary AI-Driven R-A-A-S Platform at MWC 2025
At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, Huawei showcased a groundbreaking initiative titled "Beyond Digital: Resilience Expands Finance with AI." This initiative features the launch of the
R-A-A-S platform, an acronym for Reliability, Availability, Autonomy, and Security, designed to enhance the resilience of financial institutions in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
Enhancing Financial Resilience with AI
In his opening remarks,
Jason Cao, CEO of Huawei’s Digital Finance Business Unit, emphasized the unstoppable evolution of AI in the financial sector. He stated, "The global finance industry has transitioned from Doing Digital to Doing AI." This pivotal shift signifies the integration of AI into core financial operations, fundamentally altering front, mid, and back-office processes.
However, with such transformative advancements comes unprecedented complexity within financial infrastructure. Cao stressed that without adequate resilience, the journey from digital transformation to intelligent transformation cannot be achieved. The focus is now on leveraging AI's capabilities to foster business innovation while simultaneously expanding infrastructure resilience.
Key Features of the R-A-A-S Platform
During the forum,
Alvin Feng, Director of Global Marketing and Solution Sales for Huawei Digital Finance BU, outlined the rapid development of AI as a double-edged sword. It presents both opportunities and challenges that demand better infrastructure standards.
Building on Huawei's
4 Zero Framework (Zero Downtime, Zero Wait, Zero Trust, Zero Touch) introduced in the previous year, the R-A-A-S platform aims to establish a robust digital foundation for finance with the following core functionalities:
1.
Reliability: The platform guarantees zero data loss through multiple data storage copies, real-time synchronization, and cross-domain coordination of storage, computation, and networking.
2.
Availability: It minimizes service interruptions using cellular databases, micro-service clusters, and multi-center active-active cloud services to achieve an impressive system availability level of 99.999%.
3.
Autonomy: The system aims for minimal human error and swift problem identification and resolution, enabling a one-minute fault identification, five-minute fault location determination, and ten-minute fault correction.
In increasingly complex IT environments, Huawei's digital twin technologies and AI provide intelligent modeling, monitoring, localization, and correction through an AIOps system that spans various domains, including cloud, network, and security.
4.
Security: The platform fortifies a comprehensive AI-powered protection system through integrated cloud collaboration and unified policy management, capable of detecting and blocking cyber-attacks within seconds to safeguard data integrity.
