Introducing Localry's Latest Trial Relocation Programs
The unique trial relocation platform, Localry, has expanded its offerings by adding three new regions for individuals interested in experiencing life in Japan. Located in Miyagi Prefecture's Osaki City, Iwate Prefecture's Rikuzentakata City, and Miyazaki Prefecture's Kawaminami Town, these programs offer rich experiences such as video production workshops and affordable monthly stays.
Program Highlights
Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture: Hot Spring and Video Production Experience
One of the most unique programs being offered allows participants to stay at the popular Onsen (hot spring) inn, Ryokan Onuma. This incredible 2-night, 3-day experience focuses on teaching video production skills while celebrating the beautiful landscapes of Naruko Onsen. Participants enjoy relaxing in the snow-dusted hot springs while producing promotional videos showcasing the region’s traditional arts and natural beauty. Using AI-powered editing software makes it easy for beginners to take part, although this program is currently on hold due to high demand. Be sure to keep an eye out for the next opportunity to participate! For more details, visit

Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture: A New Community Experience
Rikuzentakata City, known for its positive atmosphere despite population decline, offers an affordable trial stay in municipal housing (2DK) for just 10,000 JPY per month. This program allows participants to immerse themselves in a community that is open and welcoming to newcomers. The trial can last anywhere from three months to a year, providing a real feel for daily living in the area, including grocery shopping, seasonal changes, and balancing work and life. Participants can also engage with locals through community events like “Takada Living Exchange Meetings” and “Takata Content Lab.” Discover more through the

Kawaminami Town, Miyazaki Prefecture: Trial Relocation Linked to Groundbreaking Initiatives
Kawaminami Town offers a fresh take on trial relocation through the Trial Sounding Project at Ikura Beach Natural Park. Partnering with organizations like SINKa and Trust Park, participants can engage in an experimental stay while searching for work or housing. Those preparing for relocation can take advantage of grants that offer 2,000 JPY per night (up to a maximum of five nights) for preparatory stays and 1,000 JPY per night (up to a maximum of five nights) for trial experiences. Additionally, locals are encouraged to attend the “Torontoron Light Truck Market” held on the fourth Sunday of every month to partake in real-world surveys and interactions.
