Segway Expands Their Global Presence with New E-Scooter Models
On October 7, 2026, Segway, a leader in personalized transportation and robotic services, expanded its offerings by unveiling two new e-scooter models, the
ZT3 MAX and
MAX G3 Pro. The simultaneous launch events in Cologne and Paris set the stage for Segway to enhance its global omni-channel sales and service network in response to consumer demands for robust performance and reliable support.
Addressing Real-World Complaints
One of the main challenges consumers face with e-scooters is the discrepancy between advertised range and actual performance in daily use. Recognizing this, Segway's new models have been specifically designed to address two prevalent complaints among e-scooter users:
1.
Realistic Range: E-scooter buyers often look for distance capabilities that meet their commuting needs without constant charging interruptions.
2.
Handling Confidence: Daily riders want scooters that handle well and stop securely, even on uneven surfaces.
The ZT3 MAX is billed as an all-terrain model perfect for rugged urban environments, equipped with Segway's
Intelligent Combined Braking System (ICBS). This feature facilitates smoother and more confident stopping, making it ideal for both urban and mixed-terrain rides. On the other hand, the MAX G3 Pro focuses on long-range commuting, integrating a high-capacity battery with fast charging, yielding comfortable rides over extended distances.
Real Range Standardization
To confront concerns over promised ranges, Segway introduced the
Real Range Standard, which uses TÜV’s unique testing protocol called “Range at Max. Speed.” This process involves subjecting scooters to performance evaluations at full speed until they reach 60% of their maximum capacity, thus providing more realistic expectations. The ranges reported for the ZT3 MAX are between
60 to 72 km, while the MAX G3 Pro offers an impressive
80 to 100 km, contingent on local speed regulations.
Expanding Global Sales and Service Networks
Simultaneously, Segway is broadening its omni-channel sales network to facilitate ease of purchase, repair, and maintenance of its products. The initiative relies on three fundamental approaches:
- - Partnering with national retail vendors,
- - Establishing specialized dealers who offer test rides and local repair services,
- - Implementing official online buying channels, all aimed at ensuring consistent customer support irrespective of how and where the e-scooters are purchased.
Plans are underway to expand the company’s dealer partnerships across Europe, targeting the onboarding of
1,000 specialist dealer partners within the next five years. This comprehensive approach mirrors Segway's successful U.S. model, where users have become adept at performing home repairs for
65% of common issues.
“As e-scooters morph into commonplace daily transport, it is imperative that they hold up to their promises, complemented by sustained service that keeps our riders confident in their choice,” stated
Johnny Zhang, Vice President of Segway Micromobility Business Group.
Launch Details and Future Availability
These innovative e-scooters, ZT3 MAX and MAX G3 Pro, are set to hit European markets beginning in
November 2026. The ZT3 MAX will be available in Germany (20 km/h D-version, compliant with eKFV), while France and Spain will see the
25 km/h E-version models. Pricing details are anticipated to follow as the launch date approaches. In the U.S., interested customers can purchase the MAX G3 Plus for an MSRP of
$1,499.99, available through trusted retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy. For buyers in Asia-Pacific, the rollout of the ZT3 is also planned for later in 2026, with local pricing and availability to be disclosed closer to launch.
