Oblique Therapeutics Secures SEK 14.1 Million Through Successful Rights Issue
Oblique Therapeutics Secures Funding through Rights Issue
Oblique Therapeutics AB, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, has announced the results of its recent rights issue, which concluded on June 30. This initiative was met with strong enthusiasm, leading to a total subscription of SEK 14.1 million before transaction costs. The number of shares will increase significantly from 56,297,259 to 63,322,319 shares, marking an increase of over 7 million new shares.
The successful completion of the rights issue means that shareholders who did not participate will experience an approximate 11% dilution in their voting rights and share capital. However, the company managed to conduct this issue without the need for guarantees, which CEO Christer Nordstedt described as a clear demonstration of investor confidence in Oblique's future prospects amidst a challenging financing landscape for biotechnology companies.
These funds will be utilized to support the ongoing development of Oblique Therapeutics’ innovative approaches and to further its strategic activities. Nordstedt expressed great satisfaction with the overwhelming support from both existing and new shareholders, noting the improved subscription price of SEK 2.00 per share, compared to SEK 1.50 during last year's rights issue.
In a statement, the Chairman of the Board, Hans Peter Ostler, emphasized that this influx of capital provides a solid foundation for advancing Oblique’s external collaborations and enhancing its distinct portfolio of projects. This is expected to bring further validation to Oblique’s proprietary AbiProt platform, which focuses on generating antibodies against difficult drug targets.
The management team is optimistic that the newly raised capital will sustain operations effectively into 2027, thereby allowing the company to concentrate on achieving its set goals while enhancing shareholder value. Furthermore, the interim shares issued will undergo conversion into standard shares upon completion of the capital increase registration with the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket).
For stakeholders eager to understand more about the allocation and registration processes following the rights issue, updates will be provided as per the announced time frame. This proactive transparency is in line with Oblique's commitment to its investor community.
As Oblique Therapeutics navigates through its next growth phase, the management's focus remains on executing prioritized activities and fostering innovation, thanks in part to the strong backing from its shareholders.
Additionally, it aims to strengthen its standing in the field of biotechnology, particularly with the ongoing advancements in its antibody generation technologies. The excitement within the company is palpable as it gears up to leverage this new funding while continuing to push the boundaries of scientific and therapeutic developments.
This marks a pivotal moment for Oblique Therapeutics, as they endeavor to maintain and enhance their reputation as leaders in the biotechnology space. With the rights issue fully subscribed and the unwavering support from investors, the company looks poised for future achievements while adhering to its ambitious vision for innovative healthcare solutions.
