Moving Snack Trends in Kitchen Cars: Rising Popularity of Acai and Candy

Kitchen Car Trend Insights for 2025

The kitchen car industry is witnessing exciting trends as the platform "Mobimaru," run by Synchro Food, reveals compelling data about popular menus. With a focus on effective mobile sales and culinary experiences, they gathered insights from over 30,000 kitchen car operations in the year 2025 to curate a ranking of popular food options selected by event organizers and vendors.

Survey Overview

  • - Survey Subject: Data on kitchen car sales from Mobimaru
  • - Total Count: 30,091 (number of kitchen car appearances)
  • - Survey Period: January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2025

Consistent Favorites: Potato, Fried Chicken, and Shaved Ice

In the rankings, traditional favorites have maintained their spots. Potato takes the top position, followed closely by Fried Chicken in second place, and Shaved Ice (Kakigori) in third. These three items, which have remained unchanged since 2023, solidify their status as beloved staples in the kitchen car offerings.

Moreover, responses indicate a growing demand for quick snacks. In the top ten, you'll also find eye-catching items such as Crepes, Churros, and beverages like Coffee—supporting the trend for easy-to-eat indulgences.

The Rise of Acai: A New TrendEmerges

While the top slots belong to traditional favorites, a new trend is gaining momentum—Acai. Surging up the rankings, it moved impressively from the 46th position in 2024 to 22nd in 2025. Initially celebrated in cafes and specialty shops, Acai's popularity sparked interest in the kitchen car scene, signaling a shift where trends emerging in storefronts are now influencing mobile sales. As Acai becomes widely adopted, it stands poised to be the next major staple.

Candy Apples Shine: High Sales Efficiency

Aside from rankings based on the frequency of appearances, an analysis of average sales per operation unveiled a surprising winner: Candy/Fruit Candies, boasting an impressive average of 56.4 units sold per event. This was followed by Takoyaki at 53.1 units and Yakisoba at 41.7 units.

Despite its lower ranking in attendance, Candy/Fruit Candies demonstrated incredible sales efficacy. They climbed from being unranked in 2022, to 38th in 2023, solidifying their presence in the past two years at rank 23. The appeal comes from their vibrant appearance and photo-friendly nature, alongside a variety of fruit options such as strawberries, apples, and grapes, making them a menu item to watch for future trends.
