In the development of these goals, Kraton conducted a comprehensive resource efficiency and emissions assessment. This process included energy audits, renewable energy planning, and evaluations of water and waste at the plant level. New Sustainability Objectives
The newly established objectives extend until 2032, building on Kraton’s proven track record of environmental performance. From 2014 to 2024, Kraton successfully reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity by 35%, translating into an absolute reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of 41%. This accomplishment far exceeds the typical progress seen within the industry.
The specific sustainability targets for 2032 (using 2022 as the baseline) include:
- - 30% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions
- - 30% intensity reduction in Scope 3.1 (purchased goods and services)
- - 10% intensity reduction in water consumption
- - 10% intensity reduction in waste generation
Rogier Roelen, Kraton’s Sustainability Chief and Legal Advisor, remarked, "Our new goals are designed to meet our customers' expectations regarding transparency, innovation, decarbonization of raw materials, and resource use efficiency while maintaining the necessary flexibility to drive business growth." Commitment to Product Sustainability

This extension is supported by reliable life cycle analysis (LCA) data and third-party certifications such as ISCC PLUS, aimed at assisting customers in minimizing environmental impacts throughout the product lifecycle.
