The Enchanting Night Cherry Blossom Sea: A New Spring Experience at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo

The Enchanting Night Cherry Blossom Sea at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, located in the heart of Bunkyo, Tokyo, is set to introduce a breathtaking spectacle known as the 'Night Cherry Blossom Sea' from February 6 to April 12, 2026. This year marks a significant expansion of the event as it will spread from the traditional Yusui Pond area to the stunning water landscape, enveloping the entire garden in the beauty of cherry blossoms.

As spring approaches, the gardens come alive with various cherry blossom varieties. In February, the early-blooming Kawazu cherry trees signal the arrival of spring, followed by the vibrant Shushenji cherry and the delicate Okame cherry in March. By April, the iconic Somei Yoshino blossoms can be seen, culminating with the grand finale of the Yaezakura blossoms in mid-April. Over two months, around 20 different types of cherry blossom trees will paint the garden in a vibrant pink hue, creating a picturesque setting for visitors.

An Unforgettable Night Experience

The 'Night Cherry Blossom Sea' transforms the garden into a magical realm where illuminated cherry trees meet the ethereal Tokyo mist. The lighting enhances the delicate beauty of the sakura, creating a mesmerizing display. In the Yusui Pond area, special lighting techniques will reveal the subtle variations of pink, allowing guests to deeply appreciate the diverse beauty of cherry blossoms.

This year’s event expands the 'Night Cherry Blossom Sea' to include a new water landscape area perched between Hotaru-zawa and Nostalgia Bridge, presenting an unprecedented scale of cherry blossom beauty. The integration of illuminated cherry blossoms within the water landscape creates a stunning visual feast, inviting visitors to explore the depth and expansiveness of this enchanting setting.

Additionally, a new feature called 'Hana Akari' will debut near Hotaru-zawa, where tiny lights resembling stardust will sprinkle through the surrounding vegetation, resembling cherry blossom petals falling gently, enhancing the enchanting atmosphere of the night.

This year also marks the introduction of year-round water lighting, allowing guests to enjoy the breathtaking landscape, which was cherished by the late Yoshitomo Yamagata, at night. This initiative ties into the new guideline established in 2023, titled 'Reiwa Twelve Landscapes,' which aims to further accentuate the beauty of water in the garden.

Spring Treats: Cherry Blossom Inspired Takeout Sweets

In conjunction with the cherry blossom festivities, the Hotel Shop 'Selections' will offer a delightful array of cherry blossom-themed takeout sweets. Among them, the 'Cherry Blossom Rare Cheese' presents a rich cheese paired with marinated strawberries and the gentle aroma of sakura, resembling a beautifully crafted wagashi treat. The 'Cherry Blossom and Pistachio Fraisier' features a charming ensemble of pistachio bavarois, cherry jelly, and strawberries, perfect for bringing a touch of elegance to any occasion.

Other offers include the 'Tokyo Mist Cookie Sand - Spring Strawberry Mix' and the 'Cherry Blossom and Strawberry Pound Cake,' excellent choices for gifts or a sweet personal indulgence.

On March 29, the 'Yoga in the Clouds - Sakura Yoga' session is set to take place in the stunning 'Serenity Garden,' where participants can immerse themselves in the beauty of the sakura landscape while indulging in a rejuvenating yoga experience.
