SOCMA Celebrates the Addition of Five New Members in Q3 2025

SOCMA Welcomes Five New Members in Q3 2025

The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) has made an important announcement, highlighting the addition of five new members in the third quarter of 2025. This newly expanded community is set to enhance the association's support for a broad range of industries within the chemical sector.

Vera Stoeva, the Interim President and CEO of SOCMA, expressed enthusiasm about the integration of these new members. She stated, "We’re thrilled to welcome these companies to SOCMA’s community. Their expertise spans from specialty manufacturing to digital transformation and protecting intellectual property, which strengthens SOCMA’s ability to support members across the entire chemical value chain."

New Manufacturer Member

The first notable newcomer is Current Chemicals, a manufacturer that brings over 70 years of experience to the table. They specialize in producing luminescent and rare earth chemicals, catering to various industries including electronics, lighting, and ceramics. Bill Cohen, a Business Leader at Current Chemicals, reflected on the company’s desire to join SOCMA after attending their first SOCMA Show earlier this year. He noted, “After witnessing SOCMA’s commitment to connecting like-minded companies and advocating for our interests, it became clear that we belong here.”

New Affiliate Members

Another member making headlines is the API Innovation Center (APIIC). This nonprofit organization focuses on enhancing national health security by fostering partnerships between government, academia, and the private sector to improve manufacturing facilities and technology. Charlie Lyon, the Vice President of Manufacturing, Procurement and Logistics at APIIC, mentioned, “Joining SOCMA perfectly aligns with our mission to strengthen the U.S. supply chain for active pharmaceutical ingredients.” This indicates a strong commitment to supporting health security at a national level.

Infor, recognized as a leader in business cloud software, has also joined SOCMA. Their innovative industry suites combined with data science capability aim to address the challenges faced by manufacturers today. David Sutor, Vice President of Sales for North America, expressed the company’s eagerness by stating, “We joined to partner with SOCMA and to tackle challenges that members face through our solutions.”

Moreover, McAndrews Held Malloy, a leading intellectual property and technology law firm, became a new affiliate member. Their extensive experience helps businesses with patent portfolio development and trademark protection. Thomas Wimbiscus, a Shareholder, noted his anticipation to learn from the SOCMA network and contribute to it, given his history of working with chemical industry clients.

Last but not least, Wipro NextGen, recognized for its expertise in digital transformation, has also joined the SOCMA ranks. As a global technology leader and Infor partner, they are set to offer ERP, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital transformation solutions. Anise Madh, General Manager at Wipro, emphasized the motivation behind their membership by stating, “Joining SOCMA enables us to bring our expertise into the chemical sector, assisting manufacturers in overcoming supply chain challenges and enhancing efficiency.”

Conclusion

With these new additions, SOCMA is poised to strengthen its role as a leading trade association for specialty chemicals in the United States. SOCMA not only connects its members with relevant resources but also advocates for their interests to promote growth and collaboration within the industry. The array of expertise represented by these new members is a promising sign for the future of chemical manufacturing and innovation.
