Join the 'Harappa Stadium Support Group'

On October 17, 2025, the 'Harappa Stadium Support Group' will begin its first round of member recruitment. This unique initiative, led by former Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters pitcher Yuki Saito, aims to create a baseball field where children can enjoy the game freely. The platform facilitating this community is 'OSIRO', offered by OSIRO Inc., based in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Vision for Harappa Stadium

The 'Harappa Stadium' is a project currently being constructed in Nagunuma, Hokkaido, with a vision to provide a vibrant space for kids to play baseball starting in the summer of 2024. Saito has been actively involved in the construction process, which emphasizes a hands-on approach. Volunteers are encouraged, and community members contribute by helping build parts of the stadium, such as fencing and laying grass. The labor is community-driven, showcasing a collective effort to manifest this dream project.

Joining Saito is Atsushi Honma, a former captain of the Komadai Tomakomai High School team, who is committed to supporting the construction as the stadium’s field manager. Honma believes in gathering collective support from various groups to ensure the success of this initiative. He envisions an online community where those passionate about baseball and its future can come together.

In launching this support group, Honma hopes to create a space for brainstorming and organizing events at the stadium. Monthly meetings will provide opportunities for members to contribute ideas and foster camaraderie while actively participating in the stadium's development.

Atsushi Honma's Perspective

While working on site, Honma has felt immense support from community members who visit and offer to help with tasks like weeding. The warm encouragement, both in-person and via social media, adds to the team's morale. Honma noted that even those living far away express their support through platforms like YouTube, showing how connected people feel to the project. He aims to expand this support by creating a more inclusive online community, allowing anyone, regardless of location, to engage in the stadium-building process.

Yuki Saito's Invitation

Reflecting on the past year, Saito expressed gratitude for the connections formed during this project. He emphasizes that the 'Harappa Stadium' is slowly taking shape through careful effort and collaboration. Saito and Honma share a long-standing friendship from their high school days, and Honma’s involvement is a natural extension of their mutual commitment to nurturing the future of children through baseball. Saito invites everyone to join him in this fulfilling endeavor to create a space for children, stating that collective love and effort can turn this dream stadium into a reality.

In Saito's words, "Let’s come together to construct a dream baseball field that nurtures future generations!" He encourages anyone interested to join the online community and contribute their enthusiasm and creativity to the project.
