Discover the Importance of Clinical Testing at the 2025 National Health and Testing Exhibition
On November 11 each year, Japan designates this date as "Clinical Testing Day" to raise awareness about clinical testing and the essential role of clinical technologists. Organised by the Japanese Association of Medical Technologists (JAMT), the upcoming National Health and Testing Exhibition will be held in Kanagawa and 46 other prefectures across the country, providing an opportunity for the public to engage with various health testing initiatives.
Aims of the Exhibition
The National Health and Testing Exhibition aims to educate participants on the significance of clinical testing in healthcare and public health advancement. Clinical technologists play a crucial role in this area, helping to promote early detection of lifestyle diseases and cancers through regular health check-ups that include clinical tests. This interactive exhibition provides a great platform for attendees to learn about the various aspects of clinical testing and meet skilled professionals in the field.
The exhibition's activities will commence on September 15 in Kagawa Prefecture, featuring hands-on experience and informative sessions across different locations, tailored to engage participants of all ages.
Engaging Activities Planned for the Exhibition
Participants can expect an array of interactive experiences, including:
1. Clinical Testing Simulations
Targeted mainly at middle and high school students, these sessions will allow participants to use clinical testing equipment and observe the microscopic world through microscopes, where they can look at cancer cells, blood cells, and microorganisms. Additionally, ultrasound machines will be available for those keen to learn about imaging techniques. This provides a practical glimpse into the daily responsibilities of clinical technologists.
2. Information Sessions on Clinical Testing Schools
We will collaborate with clinical technologist training schools to provide information about careers in clinical testing, including brochures, pamphlets, and souvenirs for participants interested in pursuing this profession.
3. Health Check-up Opportunities
Clinical tests such as bone density examinations will be conducted, with qualified clinical technologists explaining the outcomes. The much-anticipated dementia screenings will also be available, attracting previous attendees with positive reviews.
4. Consultation and Information Booths
Woven into the exhibition will be booths featuring clinical technologists and specialists who will offer insights into various testing procedures, ensuring that attendees leave with an enhanced understanding of clinical diagnostic practices.
