Gaiax Expands Entrepreneurial Education Initiative in Nagoya
In a noteworthy endeavor, Gaiax Co., Ltd. has announced its collaboration with Nagoya City to extend support for entrepreneurial education targeting elementary through high school students. This initiative is part of the entrepreneurial education program contracted by Nagoya City’s Economic Bureau for the fiscal year 2028.
Gaiax, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, aims to empower students by promoting entrepreneurship through practical experiences. Students will not only brainstorm ideas but also transform them into tangible products and services that will benefit society. This marks the third consecutive year of collaboration with Nagoya’s Economic Bureau, illustrating the ongoing commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among the youth.
Background of the Collaboration
Nagoya City seeks to nurture future entrepreneurs capable of leading the region. Since fiscal 2020, they have rolled out an entrepreneurial talent development program catering to junior high school students, further expanding to include high school students from fiscal 2021.
For the sixth fiscal year, Gaiax has partnered with the Nagoya City Economic Bureau and the Nagoya City Board of Education to create opportunities for students to engage in entrepreneurial learning in their schools. The expansion from two junior high schools in the sixth fiscal year to five in the seventh fiscal year, and ultimately to 11 schools from elementary to high school this year, showcases the growing reach and impact of this educational initiative.
Through previous efforts, it has been confirmed that entrepreneurial education plays a crucial role in making entrepreneurship relatable for students, thus broadening their future opportunities. This fiscal year, the program aims to elevate the hands-on learning experience by facilitating partnerships between students and local businesses and entrepreneurs, while also conducting seminars for educators to actively engage in and continue entrepreneurial education in schools.
