AAA-ICDR® Announces New Board Officers and Directors for 2026

The American Arbitration Association® – International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (AAA-ICDR) is making waves in the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) sector by appointing new leadership for 2026. This strategic decision demonstrates their commitment to governance and innovation within the legal landscape. Effective from May 7, 2026, the organization has not only elected new officers but also welcomed four new directors to its Board, signaling a fresh chapter in its enduring legacy of facilitating fair and efficient resolution of disputes worldwide.

A Look at the Newly Elected Officers

Leading this experienced group is J. Michael Kirkland, CPA, CGMA, a known entity in consultancy, who was appointed as the chairperson. He emphasizes that this board will set the groundwork for the AAA's next century of operations as they celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2026. Alongside him, Matthew L. Biben, Esq., a partner in King & Spalding, has stepped in as vice chair, while Barbara McGivern, a former Thomson Reuters executive, takes up the role of treasurer.
