GasTech Engineering and Sky High for Kids Unite to Tackle Pediatric Cancer, Raising $1 Million
GasTech Engineering and Sky High for Kids Raise $1 Million
In a remarkable display of community spirit, GasTech Engineering LLC and the nonprofit organization Sky High for Kids have joined forces to raise $1 million over the past four years in their ongoing mission to combat pediatric cancer. This grassroots movement, founded on compassion and community support, demonstrates how local businesses can make a significant impact in the fight against childhood cancer.
Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, GasTech Engineering has taken a proactive role in promoting initiatives aimed at enhancing pediatric cancer research and providing care for affected children. Their partnership with Sky High for Kids has catalyzed various fundraising events, including golf tournaments, clay shoots, and luncheons that have successfully garnered essential funds for institutions such as Saint Francis Hospital’s Camp Strong, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Texas Children's Hospital.
Brittany Franklin, CEO and Founder of Sky High for Kids, spoke highly of GasTech’s involvement, stating, "GasTech Engineering is more than a sponsor—they are a true grassroots partner. Their team shows up, has been a committed donor, and rallies their network across Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas. With allies like GasTech, we are building a future without childhood cancer."
Driving this initiative were event co-chairs Lilac Guzman, Executive Vice President at GasTech Engineering, and Carlos Conerly, Vice President at ISTI Plant Services. Their leadership inspired a coalition of business leaders and community members to go beyond mere sponsorship and take an active role in this critical cause. With the 2026 Tulsa Golf Tournament scheduled for April 13, 2026, Guzman extended an invitation to sponsors, volunteers, and community leaders to join this vital mission.
Carlos Conerly’s connection to the cause is particularly personal; as a Stage IV stomach cancer survivor himself, he understands the profound impact of support during challenging times. "I know what it’s like to fight cancer—and I also know the power of having people show up for you," Conerly remarked. His commitment to the cause underscores the event's significance as a way to honor children currently fighting cancer.
This movement has received robust backing from numerous local businesses and organizations, including executives from Vital Energy, Williams, ISTI Plant Services, Sherwin-Williams, and Targa. Additionally, the support from the Tulsa Firefighters Association has contributed to the growth of their fundraising efforts year after year.
