Homethrive Welcomes Martin Graf to Its Board of Directors
Homethrive, a prominent name in caregiver support solutions, has made a significant move by announcing the appointment of Martin Graf to its Board of Directors. This decision marks a new chapter for the company, given Dr. Graf's extensive qualifications and experience in healthcare leadership.
A Wealth of Experience in Healthcare
Martin Graf brings over 25 years of experience in executive leadership as well as management consulting to the table. Currently a Senior Partner at Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm, he spearheads the Health and Life Sciences (HLS) Government Markets practice while co-leading the HLS Pharmacy Services practice. His background positions him as a transformative leader, especially within major healthcare organizations, ranging from payors and providers to health systems.
David Greenberg, co-CEO and co-founder of Homethrive, expressed the company's enthusiasm about this appointment, stating, "We are honored to welcome Martin to the Homethrive Board of Directors. His deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and expertise in payor strategy will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach and impact in supporting caregivers."
An Impressive Academic and Professional Journey
Before his tenure at Oliver Wyman, Graf held key leadership positions both at L.E.K. Consulting and UnitedHealth Group. His academic credentials bolster his expertise: he holds two Master's degrees and a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His extensive knowledge in healthcare strategy and operations is recognized across the industry.
Dr. Graf shared his excitement about joining Homethrive, stating, "I am thrilled to join Homethrive's Board of Directors and contribute to their mission of helping adults age in place, providing essential support to family caregivers. Homethrive's innovative, tech-enabled, and scalable approach is critical in addressing the needs of families facing the challenges of caregiving and aging." He highlighted how supporting family caregivers positively impacts the health outcomes of aging adults while also benefiting employee productivity and reducing presenteeism among caregivers.
Homethrive's Growth and Vision
The timing of Dr. Graf's appointment is particularly significant, as Homethrive is experiencing a period of substantial growth. This expansion is largely driven by the increasing demand for comprehensive caregiving solutions from employers and health plans alike. In November 2024, the company successfully closed its latest funding round, raising over $20 million with participation from TELUS Global Ventures and 7Wire Ventures.
