Shanghai Electric Unveils Innovative Green Technologies at Carbon Neutrality Expo 2025

In a groundbreaking presentation at the Carbon Neutrality Expo 2025 held in Shanghai from June 5-7, Shanghai Electric has put on display a range of cutting-edge green and low-carbon technology innovations. This exhibition is pivotal for achieving global carbon neutrality as the world transitions towards sustainable energy practices.

One of the star attractions was Shanghai Electric's exclusive carbon emissions accounting platform tailored for industrial supply chain partners. This innovative tool aids companies in effectively managing and accurately calculating their carbon emissions, addressing common issues around data clarity and high accounting costs that hinder businesses from achieving transparency and accountability in emissions reporting. The company proudly announced a stunning reduction of over 202 million tons of CO2 emissions in 2024, certified by the Ti Testing Certification Group through ISO 14064-32019 standards.

Showcasing Technological Advancements

With an exhibition space of 720 square meters, the event under the theme 'Shaping a Green and Smart Future' exhibited Shanghai Electric's latest technologies and carbon neutrality solutions covering the entire industrial value chain—from energy transformation to industrial drive systems. A centerpiece of this exhibition was the Zero Carbon Center, an immersive experience designed to demonstrate how smart and green technologies can not only advance traditional industries but also significantly reduce their carbon emissions.

Visitors to the booth experienced a dynamic exploration of Shanghai Electric’s low-carbon ecosystem through interactive tree-shaped installations and advanced digital twin simulations. These visualizations effectively depicted the company's strides toward dramatically reducing carbon emissions in electricity generation, energy-efficient consumption solutions, and the development of carbon-neutral factories.

Moreover, the exhibition emphasized the significance of smart technologies in supporting sustainable industrial parks and improving data transparency and control across the carbon value chain. Shanghai Electric showcased a comprehensive array of green and low-carbon solutions for energy transformation, highlighting its commitment to accelerating the global transition to sustainable industrial development.

Innovations for Tomorrow

Among the cutting-edge technologies showcased were high-efficiency flexible gas turbines, photovoltaic and solar thermal electricity generation, advanced energy storage solutions, hydrogen energy applications, offshore wind power electricity systems, and advanced smart power transmission and distribution networks. These innovations reflect Shanghai Electric’s strategic commitment to decarbonizing the energy supply and demand sectors.

Additionally, the company shed light on technologies that drive the green revolution within industrial equipment, including green methanol production systems, industrial drive equipment, integrated environmental protection systems, and smart production lines. Designed to promote energy efficiency and reduce emissions throughout the industrial chain, these solutions underscore Shanghai Electric’s role in leading a carbon-neutral growth trajectory through innovation, integration, and intelligent design.

During the event, Shanghai Electric also launched a green and low-carbon supply chain initiative in collaboration with eleven major suppliers and six leading companies in the supply chain. This initiative aims to address the slowdown towards achieving carbon emission reduction objectives within the industrial supply chain systematically.
